Alright no messing around with top 10 lists or any of that nonsense. What is your all-time favorite music album? Everyone who posts here will do so to hype their favorite album for whatever reason so I don't expect anyone to care, but for my part Siamese Dream by The Smashing Pumpkins is without a doubt my favorite album and will most likely remain so for a very very long time. As far as I'm concerned that album is a masterpiece beyond compare. I don't expect you people to agree with me but I'm just curious what albums people will name. -

Well, if I can only pick one...
DJ Shadow 'The Private Press'
It kicks ass. Go get it. Now.
I like this guy! I'll come up with something about my favorite album later, but if you look around the forums I've already said what it was. That hasn't changed at all... -

Screw it...
Top Five (with more ties than you could shake a stick at!):
1. Soundtrack To The Film: Space Is The Place, Atlantis, and Nuclear War by Sun Ra.
2. Clicks and Cuts, Volumes One and Two by Various Artists.
3. Bitches Brew by Miles Davis, Head Hunters and Future Shock by Herbie Hancock, and Right On! by the Last Poets.
4. Swordfishtrombones, Alice, Blood Money and Mule Variations by Tom Waits.
5. Disentigration by The Cure, Bad Brains by Badbrains, Velvet Underground and Nico by the Velvet Underground and Patient O.T. by Einstruzende Neubauten.
...which proves, um, what? I have not the slightest idea. Eight are jazz, eleven can be veiwed as 'expiremental', five can be veiwed as electronica (six counting the Cure), and four fit into the punk/ proto-punk/ post-punk category.
And Tom Waits and Sun Ra are the musical geniuses of the 20th Century.
Some others I might have put up there, if I wanted to:
White Album, Sgt. Pepper's Lonely Hearts Club Band, and Revolver by the Beatles.
Loaded: Fully Loaded Edition, Velvet Underground and White Light/ White Heat by the Velvet Underground.
Private Press and Preemptive Strike by DJ Shadow.
Brainfreeze and Product Placement by DJ Shadow & Cut Chemist.
Maxinquaye by Tricky and Blue Lines by Massive Attack.
Music For Airpots by Eno and anything by Robert Fripp,Fripp & Eno, etc.
And many, many, many, fucking more.
...but you'll have to live with the list as-is. Sorry. -
