This year I look forward to bringing you Project: Moonshine (the official name will be released in the coming weeks). Each year I try to top my previous year's story. My first Halloween story was Deep Valley Amusement Park in 2006. I followed Deep Valley with The Stranahan Fairgrounds in 2007. In 2008 I brought you And Then There Were None which I felt was my most successful Halloween project. This year I needed to push the envelope even further. I needed to dig deep into my constantly churning brain to find something new, something that would make people think, something that would make people cringe.

    I succeeded.

Project: Moonshine is a project few know about. I've gone to great lengths to restrain myself from releasing the plot as I usually do. I want everyone to be surprised.

    Let the moon shine,

    Looks very cool.

Also, was "And Then There Were None" based off the book? Cause that was a great book and I could see how that could fit into a "Halloween" project.

I really like the way you're using rct3 to make these kind of movies.. It got me thinking to create some harry potter movie using rct3.. You can customize peeps in rct3, create villages and make videos using rct3 so all ingredients are there..

Anyway, looking forward to more :)

Coming October 31, 2009... Voodoo Village.

Voodoo Village is a real place in Memphis, TN. I won't bore you with a summarization with it - it's more more fun to research Voodoo Village on your own. Start by googling "Voodoo Village".

Since I've personally never been to the street, I am sensationalizing parts of the "story" but other parts of the movie are very real.

Voodoo Village is coming Halloween 2009

Learn about the actual Voodoo Village:

This past March (07), me and a group of friends (5) went down to voodoo village with a video camera after hearing stories. We went during the day and it was uneventful. The gate to the road is gone, and we could not spot the famous schoobus. However, the village is still there. The artifacts, and art are still there along with the shacks. The houses are inside a gate. We saw a man in the cove, but didn't receive a response from him. At night, we went back. We drove down the street again and this time two people stood in the cove. We immediately turned around and sped down the street while still filming. Towards the end of the road, we spotted headlights. A large, old tow truck was coming at us. We were forced to swerve to the right in order to miss him. The truck was traveling in the middle of the road. We are not sure whether this was the tow truck that is parked accross the street and reportedly blocks the road or if a tow truck just happened to be traveling down the road. In any event, it was mysterious and creepy.

They warned us not to trespass.

They say the Memphis Police Department once arrested the Chief and placed him in custody. That night the Chief mysteriously vanished into thin air... never to be seen again.

Voodoo Village is nearing completion and is on track for a Halloween release. I am considering having a premier party Thursday night, October 30, but nothing is set in stone. I will release the movie at midnight.

This movie is different from any movie I've ever made. I'm experiencing with different music, different editing styles, and different dialogue (you'll see what I mean when you watch the movie).

Voodoo Village is getting closer and closer. I drove by Mary Angela Road yesterday, but I couldn't coax my party to drive down the street with me. They demanded that I let them out... they had all been before.

Voodoo Village is coming in less than a week. You may still request a prescreening. Feedback so far from prescreenings has been positive - I'm looking forward to hearing what you all think. Here are some more stills from the film:

From a 1984 edition of the Commercial Appeal:

"A rooster crows. A cat slips through a silver fence. A red cow horn protrudes from a tree trunk. A terrapin shell floats in the air on invisible threads. An Egyptian mask stares down along a pink picket fence toward an African-like hut big enough for one pygmy. A red crescent moon sits atop one pole, a star atop another. The man in charge of this dream-like world appears and says, "This is dangerous ground." Welcome to the kingdom of Wash Harris, where Friday the 13th is no different than any other day. For more than a quarter of a century, Harris, a mystery man with a vision that he alone understands, has been creating a mystical retreat so bizarre that long ago it was dubbed "Voodoo Village." Although that is plainly a misnomer -- there are none of the classic voodoo works here: no drums, no skulls, no chicken feet -- there is little doubt that these sprawling acres contain some of the most closely guarded folk secrets in the Mid-South."

VOODOO VILLAGE IS RELEASED SATURDAY AT 12:00 AM
