    I'm guessing it's not so much the severity of the injury that caused this type of reaction... rather the surprise of the whole thing. Once a small cut or scratch bleeds, the wind would have started to smear the blood around, making the wound look worse than it might have been. I might have acted the same way, given the surprise of the situation, not being able to reach down and have a look, etc.. I'm betting most people would have reacted the same way, being strapped in and not being able to escape a ride that had just broke and was smoking.... not to mention the dude getting hit in the head, and bleeding.

    I dunno... Toward the end of the video, the kid looks like he's screaming, "Holy fuck!"

    I find it odd though, it looks like the guy on the right got hit in the face, and he's fine.

    EDIT: And why was there a video camera on the ride?

    There's cameras to record on-ride videos. Most of the major coasters at Knotts have this feature.
