It's hard to introduce the "Part 2" of a story that wasn't posted here. In a nutshell, the original park, Hershey's Hawaiian Escape existed for 55 "park years" before closing down. You can view a short movie that aired as a tribute to the park after it closed:

I don't want to post any screens yet because they would only be from the previous park and resort. I think the video will do enough justice. If you are interested in reading through Hershey Hawaii's rich history, you can read through the largest park thread at Atari.

    The future is here.

Hello, my name is Allison Caldwell and I am the new Public Relations chair for Hershey Entertainment's Hawaii division. I will be sending you information on the dramatic changes that will taking place in Honolulu over the next few months. I'll address some of the most frequently asked questions:

ZooAmerica will be closing at the end of the month. Plans are already underway to send some of the animals to the Honolulu zoo while the rest will move to ZooAmerica at Hersheypark in Pennsylvania.

Marriott and Hershey have reached a deal that will allow Hershey to retake ownership of the hotel by the end of this year. The indoor waterpark will also close this month. The building that houses the waterpark will become Phase I of the Hershey Hawaii Project.

Phase I will include a mixed indoor retail and entertainment center.

Please stay tuned as more information is released.

I looked at a little bit of the thread, not all 181 pages, but it's looks pretty cool. It doesn't look as good as CGAP, but it's still one of the best RCT3 parks out there.

Good morning! I'd like to welcome you all to this press conference.

Hershey is more excited than ever to be reclaiming prominence in the marvelous state of Hawaii and moreso in the city of Honolulu.

We are here today to formally announce the first phase of the Hershey Hawaii project.

Volcanic Venues & Suites will become the state's largest indoor entertainment center with world class restaurants, shopping venues, and amusement attractions for the entire family.

The Volcanic hotel represents an iconic presence that Hershey has held in Hawaii over the past decades. Phase One will include a total rehaul of the entire resort including exterior and interior remodeling. Room sizes will be increased and modern amenities will be added to assure that our guests are comfortable while they stay with Hershey.

The building that was once home to the indoor waterpark has been completely gutted to make way for Volcanic Venues & Suites. The two uppermost floors will be dedicated to new penthouse suites while the area below those floors will be used for the entertainment center.

The entertainment center will become the place in Hawaii to come to for world class entertainment. Thrilling rollercoasters, fine & casual dining, and countless shops will offer something for the entire family... all under one roof.

We invite you to follow construction through our website and we look forward to seeing you at Volcanic Venues & Suites grand reopening!

    Hello!

I'd like to update you on some of the progess and goings on at Hershey Hawaii this morning.

The waterslides are being removed and the groundwork for the new infrastructure within the building has begun. Hershey has decided to retain the iconic lighthouse that was the centerpiece for the waterpark. It will also serve as a centerpiece for this new entertainment destination. Stay tuned for more updates!

So, *eats donut* this park is basically *eats donut* a continuation of *eats donut* the park that was *eats donut* featured at Atari? *drinks coffee*

It's an interesting idea, *eats donut* and I'm eager *eats donut* to see more. What would be really interesting, though, *eats donut* would be if *eats donut* you showed us some of the *eats donut* construction work that's *eats donut* going on inside.

By the way, you might want to put out some more donuts. :p

Work continues steadily on the interior of Volcanic Venues & Suites. We have made the decision to remove the original lighthouse in the center of the park and replace it with a similar structure that we think reflects our new direction better.

Be sure to watch my newest movie, Voodoo Village, which premieres at midnight tonight!

Hello again! The Volcanic Venues & Suites portion of the new Hershey Hawaii resort is progressing smoothly. Parts of the indoor themepark and shopping mall are still being converted from the former waterpark which once stood in its place.

Brand new LCD video screens will grace the inside of the "Venue" side of the Volcanic.

This entrance will connect the indoor theme park and shopping mall with the hotel. As guests enter, they will first notice this family coaster that has been a part of Hershey Hawaii ever since its opening as Hawaiian Escape.
