Theme Park Discussion / Voyage to get new trains

I found this pretty interesting. From the sound of it, these new trains might make a back-seat ride actually bearable. And they do look a lot more comfortable. Like Beemer seats.

Asthetically though, I think they're too modern looking, and the large pieces on the sides look god-aweful. If they'd remove those side pieces and open it up more, I think it would make the coaster a lot more thrilling, especially in those 90* turns.

It'll be interesting to see how they fair, and what impact they'll have on coaster enthusiasts. It could mean a lower rating in the future.

    Thoughts? opinions?

I basically agree with you. I think they look too much like steel coaster trains, and weird steel coaster trains at that, but if they provide a better ride, I'm all for it.

Voyage is probably the coaster that could use it the most, as half my rides on it were OMFG amazing, and the other half were "I does has the brain damage now?" painful. And that was all by staying at the front of the train, since I was honestly worried for my health after my first ride. That ride is violent, and it's hard to know if you'll get the good or the bad kind.

Now if only Phatage would stop being such a tease...

if the trains on voyage workout well, I wouldn't be suprised if Holiday world replaces the trains on Raven and Legend as well

I hope not. Both coasters are fine as they are; classic woodies.

Now, these new trains (with a bit of redesigning) could be perfect for SoB. Given the numerous reports of injuries and discomfort, I think SoB is in desperate need of these babies. Because I don't think anyone wants to see the worlds tallest woodie () get torn down.

^ Tear it down. SoB is not worthy.

No Fullmetal, SOB doesn't need these "babies". SOB is a train wreck that Cedar Fair isn't going to put up with. It'll be tore down soon.

SOB is the TOGO of wooden coasters. I wouldn't be surprised if it is torn down because in a way, it is kinda a prototype, and most experimental or "prototype" rides don't last very long.

I personally think it should be saved to to the fact that it was the first (and only) 200+ ft. wooden roller coaster.

If they do tear it down, though, they need to put a woodie back in it's place. A good GCI or something.

Well, they tear down all sorts of coasters, most wooden coasters were damaged or defunct after the great depression, so many coasters were torn down in the mid 1900s. Infact, there are all sorts of unique coasters that were torn down. I'm surprised that the SOB is still operating considering that it is an "experimental" coaster. I do think that the main reason that SoB is painful is because the trains are poorly designed. It would be cool to see more wooden hypers, but personally... I think that mid-size woodies are the best, especially the cyclone layouts.
