Ask the Experts / More windows 7 + rct issues

So I'd like to record some stuff in RCT2, but naturally Microsoft feeds on peoples misery and slaughtering their inspiration so they made that impossible. I tried changing the compatibility settings of both Hypercam and RCT2 with no success, when I record in-game the result is just a black screen. I know this often is codec related, but I downloaded VLC and that program has worked fine for me when I recorded RCT on XP. One funny thing is an error message appears (Hypercam2 has stopped working blah blah) after I've closed hypercam, but while it's running it seems to work. If anyone has succeeded in recording rct with Hypercam on Windows 7 I'd very much like to know how he/she did it. Thanks in advance.

I sugest you play it with windows mediaplayer.
Hypercam records in raw frames and as far as I saw only media player was really capable of playing it. VLC wont play it for me also.
after I worked it with a movie editor (sony vegas movie studio) it was able to play it.

Still just a black screen for me Are there any settings that might be wrong? I run RCT at the highest resolution possible, 1280 x 800. Maybe it's not compatible with such high resolutions? Or the colour settings? The default setting is 32 bit, should I lower it to 16? And, do you know if Hypercam 3 works with RCT? Sorry for spamming you with questions Levis lol, I really appreciate you help

I dont know about windows 7. haven't had the time to try it myself. but in vista (which has almost the same kernel) hypercam2 does work. but you need to start filming when you are in rct2 already. the settings shouldn't make any difference. but I sugest using 32 bit colors.

I love you Levis! The problem was probably that I started recording before I switched to RCT because when I pressed f2 in-game, instead of recording, the water tool would open. It didn't occur to me until now that I could change the hotkey... Sometimes my own stupidity amazes me lol. Thanks a ton!
