RCT Discussion / Annoying merge question.

    Ok, I've been trying to do a merge on a coaster for awhile now, and it struck me, why not ask here? (duh).

    Ok, I'm trying to merge a wooden twister track with a steel corckscrew, and back again. (short period of time, 7 straight pieces...)

    I just need this merge to get boosters really. I merge it correctly both times, but it always crashes. It might have something to do with that at that point in the ride, there is two trains....but when I set it up for both of them to merge on the steel corcksrew it still crashes.

    So, is it possible to do this merge? Do I need to set up the merges so that both coasters hit them at exact same time....

    Any help would be apprecitated.

    Thanks--BF

    I don't know what you're trying to do, exactly, as the description makes no sense. I do however know that for the boosters to work, you'll probably need the station of the coaster (and perhaps even the train) to be of a coaster-type which naturally features boosters.

    Meaning: if you're using the wooden station, crash or no crash, the boosters will be worthless.

    This might even be your problem, although I've never had a train crash just from a merge, unless I was doing something it wasn't supposed to be doing, ie: badly merging them.

    basically, what I meant is this:

    XXXXXXXXYBBBBBBBYXXXXXX

    X=Wooden Track

    Y=Steel Corckscrew Track

    B=Boosters

    Hmmm, I did but another coaster type...but, it didn't work...I think it might have something to do with the coaster split...

    ok, first off, if your planning to use a wooden train with this foget it. boosters dont work on wooden trains, if you switched the train, it would work. the merge should work, but the boosters wont do anything for a wooden train, sorry.

    my suggestion is to be carefull when you merge, that your wooden coaster isn't trying to merg onto the boosters. like XXXXXYBBBYXXXX, instead of that, put more "Y". XXXXYYYBBBBBBYYYXXX. maybe it will work better for you.

    Thanks for the help guys. I actually hadn't even added the boosters in yet, it was just crashing from the merge. Even though it was merged right.

    I tried on a black map the merge again. And I figured out, even using a coaster that uses boosters, for some reason they don't work....

    So the hack is worthless anyways.

    I'm sure the orginal problem is that the two trains (after split) didnt reach the merge track at same time....

    Thanks anyways.
