Custom Scenery Exchange / Object Request(s)

Update: Okay, rather than make multiple topics for my object requests, I'll just post here whenever I need one/am looking for one...

    -------

Hello there. Anyone care to make a 1/4 object for me?

Basically I need this brick wall ...
    Posted Image
.. but as a 1/4th object (so basically half of the wall..)

    Thanks for any help!

Hm, that'd be a nifty object. If it could be the way you described AND an additional diagonal 1/4 object that'd be killer.
  • Levis%s's Photo
to get the texture right it would mean the block has to be two clearence high instead of 1. is that okay?
and I dont know for sure if it will connect with the wall completely.
  • nin%s's Photo
Yeah the clearance of two is fine and for what I'm using it for it won't have to connect.
  • Magnus%s's Photo
It does not have to be two clearances high.
    Front and back: complete stone
    left and right: half stone

This means you have to rotate the object a lot when building, but it also means just one object and more flexibility.

It obviously gets more tricky with the diagonal one which you would most likely have to make two objects for. One with two stones and another with three stones to make it look good.
  • Levis%s's Photo
thats a good idea magnus. altough I doubt many people will understand it :p .
when I have time will try to make both version. diagonal would be usefull also for this object. think that has to be a 2 clearence high one.
  • JoeZia%s's Photo
that was a rather confusing way to say such.

laevis will make them anyway, but what magnus tried to pronounce is the following...

cut off 8 pixels from the top of each veiw of the wall. you do know what a pixel is, right?

I think you dont get what magnus is saying.

@ darren - > I can't be arsed to look at them now so is this the one with 2 different sides or is this a 2 clearence high one?

Ok, I have another request. I'm pretty sure this has been asked before, so if the object already exists than mind posting a download if any of you have it..? :p

Basically it's just one of Fisherman's arches (5 i think), but I need it inverted.

    1) open fisherman's noninverted object in object editor. *right click* & *copy* the veiws to seperately openned MS paints.
    2) In MS paint, click "image" from menu at top of screen. *Flip/Rotate*. Select *Flip Vertical*. Click *OK*.
    3) *Right Click*. Click *Copy*. *Paste* the inverted/flipped images back to editor in the same views (aka right click then paste into veiw.) Use 'arrows' under each view to place it correctly on tile (use grass as backround). You should know your norths, souths, and easts from wests.
    4) Save as different dat name/string, sign name to indicate you made it. If you don't know how to edit the string, the .dat name should be good enough, only 8 characters though.
    5) Making Objects isn't hard at all once learned. Don't ponder on "how you just can't do it" and actually try what I said and no different. I'm not making it for you. I think your capable for at least this one. You don't have to draw it in this case, (that should be easy too however)...

let me know if there's something I typed you still don't get, i'll be glad enough to make it more comprehendable with screens, (only if needed).

BTW- if it was already made I still think you should try this for the benefit of learning at least something.

that sounds like the solution. but I sugest you try it JoeZia, I believe it wont work because of the shaddows ;) . try it and you'll see.
it the object where to be completely flat it might had worked.

the idea is educating the dude, not dimension. that's lesson #2. if he had photoshop (most likely doesn't) it would be easy cuz then you can invert shades and solve that problem you just mentioned by just clicking.

I mean the object has a "front side" which is bright because the sun is on it. but it also got a top which is darker. this has to be showed because of the isometric view. else it would look like a to thin thing.
but if you invert this image. this "top" wil go down and the isometric view wont be acurate anymore.
  • nin%s's Photo
Well actually, the request has been completed. The shading isn't completely accurate, but for what I'm using the object for it fits the bill. Thanks for the help guys.

Ok, so this isn't a request for a new object or anything, but simply looking for one.

    Imagine

    Zia educating fucking anyone.
    Those that can, do.
Those that can't, try to teach.
Those that are ineffectual at both should just shut the fuck up.
  • nin%s's Photo
    Ok, so here's something new.

I'd imagine this to be a bit harder than most object requests, but a 3-D sign (like the default ones), but with no backdrop. So instead of having the backdrop and the letters, it'd just be the letters.

If this is too difficult/no one is willing to that's perfectly okay, just seeing if it's possible.
  • Dark_Horse%s's Photo
EDIT: Never mind. Just looked at a sign through the OE and I have absolutely no idea what to do.
