Theme Park Discussion / BGA Trip Planning

Alright been talking about doing this for a while. I have summer school till early August, but since my classes are only on Tuesdays and Thursdays. This means it would not be hard for me to get up to Tampa for a weekend. Also I have a lot of family on the west coast of Florida I have not seen in a while. I am suggesting BGA for a few reasons. It is not as expensive as Disney. I know of two NE members who live there.

I will listen to arguments for IoA, just I think that place will be mobbed with people due to the new HP area. Also BGA works better for me and from what I can see it also should for most members. IMO it also has the best array of rides in Florida.

If Adix posts I know he'll bring up Disney/EPCOT just that can be expensive...

Possible dates:

Saturday May 29th or Sunday May 30th
Saturday June 5th or Sunday June 6th
Saturday June 12th or Sunday June 13th
Saturday June 19th or Sunday June 20th
Ect... basically any weekend this Summer.

Myself I think id do a 2-day pass so I can do one day with my family and the other as the NE trip.

Off the top of my head I think the NE members most likely to go are: CP6, JKay, In:Cities, riven3d, Adix and myself

TPM is coming to America for a big themepark tour, you can read about it here. I am just not sure if he'll be in Tampa over a weekend or if it would be when my fall classes start. Can meet up with him when he hits up Miami anyways.

So if your in the area please let us know if you might be able to meet up on an upcoming weekend for this trip.

a Saturday date would be easier for me, Just let me know the date.

I really want to do IoA, but Busch Gardens would be cheaper for us, less drive.

I need to know a date as I can make sure I request off from work to be there.

Ah crap, it's not in July, otherwise I might consider to come since I still want to visit Disney sometime in the future ... 

It would cost a lot more for me though since I have trans-atlantic flying costs too... Hmm then it would be better if I took 2 or 3 weeks for it atleast, I guess.

I'm unsure as to my schedule yet, but I'll see what I can do to be there. Mid June works best.

I live near Tampa, just across the bay, BG is about a 30-45 minute drive and Orlando 2 hours.

shame you can't do a August date, im in Orlando in a very nice Condo for that first weekend. and I will most likely have a IoA/Universal pass for that weekend.

I live a mere 30 minutes from BGA and would initially say I'm down to go, but this really is the worst time of year to go. all the kids will be out of school soon, so expect long lines and HOT. I vote for a NE meet in the fall...say October, Novemeber maybe instead..?

Well thing is CP6 (I think) only lives in FL during the summer. Also the kids should still be in school, in this country they are till mid June. You have a good point on the heat, but your from Colorado, FL natives like me can handle it
