RCT Discussion / Windows 7 x64, RCT2 Resolution Issue

So normally if I'm playing RCT2, I can just go to options and change my resolution to the highest one with no issues. On my laptop, running Windows 7 x32, there are no issues, but my on desktop running x64, I can only use the first 3 or 4 resolutions, and anything larger just switches to 800x600 automatically. Any ideas? I've tried running in compatibility mode and there's no difference.

sounds like a gpu issue. i use 7-64 myself and all the resolutions work fine. unfortunately i'm unsure what could help. are your directx and gpu driver up to date?

Yes they are, however I'm running a dual screen setup and I've noticed that if I disable my primary screen, it'll work fine on my secondary screen, but not vice-versa. Weird

    I have windows 7 x32 since a few days.
    The highest resolution I can select is 1280 x 1024, however I need a resolution of 1600 x 1200. Any ideas?
Right now it's a grainy mess of colours!

    rct2 can do 1600x1200 ??

sey, did you also get a new monitor? my lcd can only do 1280x1024 max.

You're right, 1280x1024 is the maximum. My monitor isn't new, however windows 7 makes it possible to run rct2 with all trainers, so I thought I wouldn't need a virtual operating system. But that resolution is just ugly, so I'll try what Cena suggested here when I come back.
