Custom Scenery Exchange / Arrow Style Mine Train

This is something I have been working on for about a month now. It is an altered version of the in game Hyper Coaster much like Amazing Earl did with his Space Mountain coaster. It has required 446 new images to make remove the sloped front car from the Hyper Coaster and replace it with a flat front version that matches the rest of the train.

I have tested it in game on all available track for any defects and found only one. The front car is now shorter than the original. To keep it centered on the track the car has to sit in the middle of where the old version sat causing a slightly larger gap between it and the 2nd car than the rest of the train. This distance is hard coded into the ride and there is nothing I can do about it. I took a closer look at AE's coaster and it seems he had the same problem. His gap is not quite as large as mine but then again his front coaster car is longer so it fills in the space a little better.

The download is HERE at the RCT2 Object List site and also below.

EDIT: PLEASE READ THIS IMPORTANT UPDATE!
Thanks to olddtfan51 from the RCT2 Object List a conflict issue has come up with the original ARRT3 download. When using the ParkDat to import this ride the utility can not distinguish between it and the the other mine train in the game so I have changed the in game name to fix the problem. If you downloaded this ride please re-download and replace the version you have in your ObjData folder with the new one. If you have already used the old ride in a park you MUST remove it before you update your ObjData folder failure to do so will make your park unopenable. Thanks for your time and patience with this issue. I am learning as I go and mistakes are just part of learning.

Amazing job! A month's work makes one awsome ride! Keep up the ridemaking, your doing GREAT. btw- the download link wont show unless you logged on / registered. Quite some people here won't be able to access it.

    you never read, do you.

I guess they will just have to log in or register.

The download is ready and the link is in the first post.

Thanks for all the nice comments about it. I hope it comes in handy for anyone not wanting to go with the standard in game Mine Train. I am working on a few other items, don't know if they will ever work though. For example I am trying to make it so you can have more than 4 cars on a 6 seat wooden coaster and 4 cars on a Suspended Monorail. The first attempt at the monorail was a huge fail. Had made 707 new images to add a extra car to the front of the train. Had it made with the Ride Maker only to have it freeze up RCT2 when I tried to build one. So who knows if I will ever get it working.

^ I don't know why you can't get in but if your having a problem chances are other people are also so I will add a direct download to the first post here at NE. Thanks for the heads up on the problem. :mantis:

never noticed that, but yeah, that would be very useful for more modern wooden coaster 6 seater trains, and also hybrid woodies

Yay! Now I can build a mine train!

THIS FILE HAS BEEN EDITED! If you downloaded prior to 8/06/10 you need to read the edit in the first post!

^ I was thinking about removing the first car on the standard mine train and just replacing it with a normal car. Isn't the Thirteen train pretty much just like 4 seat game version just without the train front?
  • Ripsaw%s's Photo
well its got a grill on the front and vine thingys grown all over, the front looks more like what you done here.(edit) Yeah that mine train idea would work briliantly, also if you could set the default last car as a reveresed version of the front of the minetrain coaster you would have a bang on expedition everest train, but that just sounds complicated.

To build a new coaster with this one, You need the Mine Train Coaster "AMT1.dat" in the saved game. It don`t show up in the New Roller Coaster tab with out the other one there also.
  • Levis%s's Photo
try using update headers on the savegame file where it doesn't show up. see if that fixes the problem.
and are you using the new version?
  • dmaxsba%s's Photo
I am a little confused as to why you need the the standard in-game mine train (AMT1) to get this one (ARRT3) to show up. It was tracked on the in-game Arrow/Morgan Hyper Coaster (ARRT2) and should show up without any issues. With that said, the track is of course just steel tube track and not the Mine Train track. If you want it on the Mine Train track you will need to use 8cars to change track types or if you build the in-game Mine Train track you will need 8cars to change train types to this version. I had to use the Hyper Coaster as the model in order to allow for 6 person cars the in-game Mine Train only has guest animations and POS placement slots for 4 person cars.

To the best of my knowledge the above statement is correct, if anyone else is having a loading issue with ARRT3 please let me know. Havingfun, please let me know here or at the RCT2 Object List if the issue you mentioned was not addressed above and are still having issues. I need to get this possible problem fixed before the file gets even more distributed in the RCT2 game community.

I think for the next new items I am going to find myself a few DAT testers to check out the file(s) before I post them. In the hopes that they find any problems/conflicts with the new item(s) that I may have missed like problem olddtfan51 found very early in the release and now maybe Havingfun's issue. Anyone like to be one of those people? You need to be really willing to take the time to build with all available track features and play around the files using import utilities checking for tracking issues and file conflicts.

pop quiz--I can be a dat tester.
