Ask the Experts / Unable to Initiate Graphics System - error messege

I am having trouble with RCT2 CD. The messege below appears right after I click the shortcut to start the game. I realy need help. Ive always loved the game and have played (and also found this site) in the past, and I would love to play again, but I dont know what the problem is.



I am currently running windows 7 on a brand new computer. Is the game possibly to old for it? I have another computer were I play the game on, so its not a problem with the CD.

Any help?

Might want try to run it in compatiblity mode. If it's still the same in windows 7 you have to right-click on rct2.exe -> properties -> combatibilty -> run in compatibilty mode 'windows XP'.
Considering the game also runs on Vista it should run on W7

I have friends that play it on win 7 & other people here do also.

Ive seen that thread, the problem is my computer has options for 256 colors. Ive tried that and it still didnt work. I have no idea why this is happining.

*edit- could a possible reason be that my graphics card needs to be updated?

At the very least, make sure your drivers and DirectX are up-to-date.

I know direct-x is, how do I find out if my drivers are up to date?

Another thing, I can play RCTLL just fine
