Ask the Experts / Hi guys. How do you go about designing and building your parks?

Hi, I've played RCT2 many times and am familiar with all the stuff, but how do you guys actually go about building your awesome parks from scratch?

After setting up all the rides and scenery I want in the scenario editor, I save it with 'No money', and it gives me a park I cannot close. What do you do about this? Do you have a default landscape saved with all the rollercoasters/scenery you need, then just load that up each time (if so, is there a download of it?)?

Second question, is how much do you design in the scenario editor? I have 8cars to use the mountain tool in-game, but do you sculpt any of the landscape before you load up the park?

My third question is do you design anything (on paper) before you start your park, or just beaver away at it in-game? Essentially I just want to create a nice park, then open it to the public when there's some stuff for them to do, and keep building it from there.

    Thanks for any advice dudes.

(P.S. if you guys know of any Marvel/DC/X-Men scenery objects for RCT2, they would be appreciated ;-)

Now what I do when it comes to buildings is I look at parks around the world, and view pictures first. After I find the type of theme I'm looking for, I sketch out the main areas, and how they will flow. The easiest way to do this is make a hub that branches off to its designated areas; just like Disneyland. After I get my main paths up, and some buildings, I then start building coasters. The best way to construct coasters is build the main elements (loops, corkscrews, etc) first. The idea of bulding like this helps the coaster interact with guest, which most Theme Parks try to accomplish. Whether the coaster is gentle, or even intimadiating, not only does it look nice to the eyes of the players, but the Peeps in the game would like it I'm sure.

Don't worry about the objectives you chose out because when building parks like this take hours upon hours to make.

About bulding in the editor, I have never chose that way because in that mode it is easier to make the park un Peep friendly. The most I do on there is at least start the main entrance, then with the texture land you can place, I draw areas of intrest for main rides and such.

    Hope this helps :-)
