Theme Park Discussion / Six Flags ditches brands!

So just to wrap up everything now that this all seems a lot more "confirmed" - Six Flags is ditching most of the attraction licenses that were introduced in the past 5 years including:

    - Tony Hawk
    - Thomas the Tank Engine
    - The Wiggles
    - Terminator
    - Evel Knievel

And it's rumored that some food locations will also go such as:

    - Johnny Rockets
    - Papa Johns
    - Mrs. Fields (SFOT location already gone)
    - TCBY (SFOT location already gone)
    - Coldstone Creamery

This leaves only some of the original Six Flags licenses in place like:

    - DC Comics (Batman, Superman, etc)
    - Loony Tunes (Bugs Bunny & Friends)"

Me-I feel really bad about the food locations. The rides are just being renamed but the food sucked at six flags before some of the brands made its way into six flags. They're really significant to the six flags brand and the six flags parks made here as well. But the food places MIGHT be gone, but they've not confirmed.

yes, good for them. Saving money. I dont think these will be missed really, especially the THBS rides, as non of them fit into there respective themed area's (Boardwalk, Wildwest x2, and whatever DK was). Evel will actually be pretty cool I think, it is being rebranded American Thunder or something, maybe it will get some cool "chopper" theming. I guess terminator will get something neat, probably something simple but reflects the theme.
I guess being 16 I dont care to much about the wiggle's, but the area at SFFT was a little strange looking. The Thomas Town's, however, seemed really nice, especially at SFA, and I am a bit sad to see those go since Thomas is a pretty awesome brand, and, IMO, is better than Loony Toons.

As for the food, I cant imagine Johny Rockets leaving, as most parks have building which are custom built for them, unlike Panda Express, Papa Johns, etc. To me, Johny Rockets are about as likely to leave as Dippin Dots.

just an update, many of the six flags rides have had there names updated on rcdb from what ive seen. most notably, terminator salvation: the ride is now called apocalypse. personally i like the name.

I suppose Terminator is undergoing the same kind of thing that happened to all the Italian Job and Top Gun coasters when CF bought Paramount Parks. I'm glad that DC and Looney Tunes are staying; they were both the most profitable and the best concept. Coincidence? I think not.

Not to mention that six flags has multiple DC and LT rides in every park (except great escape now) and they have been there for years.
This recent contracts were pretty useless, really.
