Or, better yet, you can change your computer settings so that your media player of choice opens .dat files. Once you succeed in doing that, just open up your .dat folder, for RCT, and click the stupid links!
All of the sound files will open, all of the non-sound files won't. This is also nifty if you hate the existing game sounds, so that you can change them.
Wouldn't that come in handy? Wouldn't it? Yes, thought so. Don't ask me how to do the first part though, I forgot. -

One way of doing it, is if the DAT file is presently unasigned to any program, just clicking it works. When that happens, Windows will have no idea what to open it with, so you must tell it.
In doing this, you can make, say, Real Player or Quicktime open up the DAT files, thus allowing you to play the music that way.
Also, if you merely open the media player of your choice and use the 'Open' or 'Browse' or whatever they call it option (to allow you to search your computer for media to play), then use that!
Go into your RCT's DAT folder through that option, and click on the files until you find the music file you want to hear.
There are other ways, but I have forgot them. Perhaps somebody else can help you, if either isn't 'good enough' for you. I do hope so... or perhaps I'll figure it out myself, again.
