    Hello, I've been gone from these forums for quite a while... but mostly because I got really into game design.

    Heck, if I had the patience I would make a complete remake rollercoaster tycoon 2, but that's just it, I don't at least not on my own. Pretty much the only thing that I have the patience for is doing the GameMaker Language (GML) coding. The process of making the isometric images, however, is a very ambitious and a repetative process.

    The only thing I really couldn't imitate about RCT2 is the guests and actually up and running rides. That would take some serious pathfinding and coding I'd probably never never accomplish with all the headaches.

    So anyway, I'm about to be in the process of making an open source engine that imitates RCT, but it won't be RCT. It will be called Builder, a free program for everyone here to enjoy

    I won't even start this project unless I get alot of support for it. So if you think this is a good idea be shure to send me a PM or a reply to this topic.

    Also, I might do this on my own, but it would be a big help if you guys send me a 32x16 pixel isometric piece of art, must be royalty (copyright) free. Pretty much any small, wall/fence object like what is used in RCT or RCT2 will be acceptable. But it must be your original work. Feel free to use extracted images from your own objects to do this, or let me know if I have permission to use your objects.

    //A little off topic but...
    For those of you who would like to make your own 3D roller coasters from scratch, try out this really awsome program sweet home 3D (http://www.sweethome3d.com). And Blender (google it).

    With blender you can make 3D roller coaster track models and import them for rendering beautiful images in sweethome3d. Also I recommend looking up tutorials for both programs (especially Blender).

    Renderend In sweethome3d.

    ..and better yet, an (incomplete) recreation of the "rebel yell" @ kings dominion. (Wavefront OBJ source attached)

    Hey JZ! Glad to see you back! Maybe even if you can't make a real RCT - type game, maybe someone could make it into one...

    I like it, but I want a 3D builder of buildings and arquitecture but not rollercoaster.

    Honestly, the graphics look pretty crappy imo..

    ^Um, hello? It's open source for a reason. Make it look better if you don't like it.

    Edit. I was kinda hoping that this would get a better rate than 1.1 star average, especially since Everything I have uploaded to YoYo Games currently has four stars... .. but whatever more updates soon.

    ^It's never stated that you have to be better at something to judge it..
    That would, for example, make the accolade panel useless when a spotlight park comes to voting..
  • JoeZia%s's Photo
    Wow. I wasn't implying that you were any better or worse than me at anything... Bye. :)
