Milo only has one acolade here at NE. But it is the highest scoring LL Design of all time. And for that reason, among others, we decided to award it our #1 LL Design spot in our 10th Anniversary Awards. Tempest is a beautiful, flowing Invert layout, with a wonderful atmosphere. It features a genius use of Codex and shows Milo's pure RCTLL skill. Congratulations Milo on lifting the LL Design crown, this truly is a must see!

Hang on a minute? Phatage has done LL? He has indeed, and his one and only LL creation has landed our #2 spot. Fire Dragon is an imposing Wooden Rollercoaster that dominates the beautiful surroundings. It's this incredible layout, combined with the serene foliage and lanscaping that makes this design so brilliant. And of course it has some of the best LL Asian theming the site has seen. Well done Phatage, perhaps being awarded the 2nd Best LL Design of the last 10 years will encourage you to dabble in LL once more.

Rounding of our Best LL Design category is a member who has proven his LL greatness several times over the last decade. Last year Loopy returned to the site with a design that scored so high, only our #1 design, Tempest, beat it. Loopy's style has always been a great mix of 'classic' LL and Codex, and Leviathan is no exception. It's this wonderful balance of the two that makes Loopy's work so unique. We felt that because of this, the beautiful surroundings and the superb layout, Leviathan deserved our #3 spot.

Well deserved, Milo! Tempest has always been my favorite LL ride, glad to see it get the recognition it deserves.

Nice job to Phatage and Loopy, too. I forgot how unreal Fire Dragon's flow of track is.

It's a very good top 3, but I'd have X in there instead of Fire Dragon or Leviathan. Perhaps even in first place. Congratulations, all! You can be proud of this.

By the way... Isn't it funny that while 95% of the LL greatness lies FAR behind us, the three best LL designs are all relatively recent and its creators are all still active?

No it's the fact that the community likes the current styles more than the old styles.

No, it's the fact that 30 out of 50 LL design were released in 2006 or later. And most of those 20 'old' designs are relatively weak compared to LL parks from that time.

What is your top 3 for LL designs?

Well the second best LL design in this thread is from 2004 so that isn't really recent... Anyway eh I don't like most of the LL designs. But I just hate the whole idea of "Best LL design" in general. It's soooo opinion based. Make the thread be "What are your favorite all-time LL rides?" RIDES not DESIGNS. That way the best roller coasters, water rides, etc from designs, parks, concept creations, can be included. I know we can just post our own favorites but I really just hate the idea of people voting for the best all-time, especially when the voters are MOSTLY current players.

Tempest is just a perfect themed area imo. I can't say I loved the coaster, but is was pretty good and again... just wow at the detailed atmosphere Milo created.

Fire Dragon is a fantastic coaster and to this day I find that architecture to be some of the best ever in LL.

Leviathan is Loopy at his best and that's pretty damn good.

About X, it was close to making the list. Personally I left it off my list because it just seemed to simple to me. Single wide paths, dull architecture and weird flowers everywhere... yes, the coaster is really great, but otherwise I did not see much in it.

Again, thanks for the third place! Congrats Milo and Phatage as well. Tempest is such a brilliant design, was amazing to see it take shape whilst we were exchanging files.
