Cant figure it out. I have all the .dat files but i get the "invalid data" red square whenever I try to open almost any park with custom objects. Anyone else got this figured out. It was working perfectly just days ago on the same system. So frustrating!

Put your saves in a secure place where they won't be lost once you do an uninstall, then reinstall the game.

no guarantees, but I should work.

Send it to one of us in a PM just to see if it is the file or your rct2.

If you send it to me, i will not look at the park, I'll just make sure I can open it.

Good to see you around here aero. It should definitely work. I've reinstalled Win7 and RCT2 many times and never had problems opening old saves. I'd also offer to try and see if I can open your park.

You probably have too many .dats in your objdata folder. I don't know the exact number, but for me at around 4600 .dats the game can't import anymore .dats and thus gives an error trapper every time you want to load up a game that it doesn't have the .dats from.

If you're sure you have all the .dats, maybe some original rct2 .dats have been corrupted. A clean install of the original rct2 files would be best i think, and then load the parks you want objects from in order to get them cleanly into your objdata folder..

Let other people test if the files are corrupt themselves also is a good way to rule out the .sv6 is corrupted itself..

    Good luck.
