So far I've got the go karts and a coaster merged but I can't figure out how to keep the go karts in race mode when the go karts are not a complete circuit.

Pretty sure I'm on the right path but can't get the hack complete!

 Thanks!

 boat hire should work

Boat hire mode doesn't work with go karts, the go karts don't go at the same time in boat hire mode. wildroller

Well I guess I probably should have tried a little harder before posting this thread but there was quite a few things I didn't know how to do until after I posted this. wildroller

I managed to figure out how to deconstruct CedarPoint6's hack in Six Flags Carolina enough to realize he just used a dummy station. Hopefully I can keep this inspiration going on this park long enough to build a nice little park!

I also didn't understand how to make a dummy station before tonight which is why I didn't realize that it was that simple!

It's a pain in the rear to put it all together, but the general concept is not terribly difficult. CedarPoint6

It's a pain in the rear to put it all together, but the general concept is not terribly difficult.
Your basic concept is to have a track and then a pit area to the side. Cars load in the pit, do some laps, and then go back in.
 So basically you want this:
Start with a coaster track that can make wide corners and bank. This is all one track. Make the station in the pits. Now go out and make essentially 4 laps around. The trick is that the track can never match on top of each other or it will merge. This is why it's banked in places. For a 2 wide track, this is as many times as you can easily get it around. Try to limit crossovers. If for some reason a kart gets one full lap ahead of the slowest ones (which mine does nearly every time), then you risk cars getting stuck if they meet when they cross. This is why I've tried to limit crossovers on immediately adjacent laps. Basically try and go as far as you can without crossovers. After the track is done come into the station. I believe this track is set to boat hire.
Now build the dummy station of Go Karts. This is to get the maximum number of cars. Keep in mind guests will use THIS ride for entry / exit, so put it next to your pits. You don't need huts on the coaster. I make it a full circuit so I can run it in continuous circuit mode like the original go-karts do. It's easy to keep the amount of cars up that way. To merge, just cross the kart track with coaster track for a couple squares so straight overlaps with straight. My merge point is on the green/yellow coaster track. The rest is just avoiding other accidental merges.
When you're done, make all the track invisible.
That should get you started, hopefully. If you need me to go back and look for specifics, let me know.

One question tho, so where the tracks merge don't they have to be going in opposite directions?

No these will be in the same direction. Just lower it down onto it. It's not like a regular track merge. I just built the whole kart track 2 blocks up and lowered it all down at once. The merge happened at that point and worked as a one-way thing. CedarPoint6

Thanks CP6, I was almost there with building the hack right, now I got it the rest of the way. I seem to have done a good job today finding everything I can't do with this hack, especially as to what track pieces I can't use to make this! wildroller

OfflineHere's a newer suggestion on making realistic go-karts. I haven't tried it yet, it looks easier than what's posted here.
