RCT Discussion / So where'd Chris go wrong?

    I'm just totally uninspired and unmotivated to play RCT2.I never expected it to happen.I just fell out of love for RCT in general.Not unless...I go back to RCT 1.

    Where'd Chris go wrong?Here's my list:
    1.Not having a mountain tool.
    2.Not enough flats.
    3.Some Useless scenerey additions
    4.No brick walls
    5.Inability to "paint" raised lands' sides which necessitates having real walls
    6.Complicated roofing

    The new scenery is shitloads better than the idiotic raised land stupidity we had in the old game. Stop being so fucking lazy and learn to use the new architecture system, and you will be pleasantly surprised at how nice you can make buildings look.

    Why not go back to RCT1? There's still plenty of innovation taking place in RCT1 at this very moment. Much more so than in RCT2 I would guess.

    RCT1 is soo much better than RCT2. I could give a shit if he makes up a new currency system, the way of creating archy absolutely sucks. I loved the raised land tool. It made archy so much easier and you can make it complex. I'm not saying that you can't make archy complex in RCT2, but its just harder. I would much rather take the easy path when making my archy. I can barely get a full map finished let alone spend two hours on one freakin building in RCT2.

    People are going to tend to like RCT1 better because theyre used to it, and they know how to build things quickly, and know what they like

    RCT2 is change, and some people dont like change, but the people who keep trying at rct2 are the ones who are gonna be innovating for years to come even after rct1 is dry and stale (which I think it is already, every park for the last 6 months has been BOOORING)

    While RCT 1 is still a great game, RCT 2 is where it's going to be from now on unless RCT 3 is totally different, which I think it should be.

    where did he go wrong? He didn't infogrames did with rct2...everything in it...only a few people can ke that crap pile look like tasty crap piles...

    He didnt go wrong. People either got lazy and cant be arsed taking the extra time to make buildings in RCT2 (which look far better for the most part) or they are waiting for somebody to create a style which is easy to copy. What andrew said sums it all up realy, as far as architecture is concerned.

    Everything else is basicly the same, so saying he went wrong is taking it a little far. It would have been better saying 'why didnt he change the game more than just in architecture'.

    The people who complain that RCT2 is too much like RCT1 make me laugh because they are the ones complaining when Chris/Infrogrammes (who ever is making it now) changes something. :lol:

    I'm having loads of fun with rct2 right now... ^_^

    and the only thing about rct2 that i'm not liking is the fact that I can't zero all clearances... now THAT would be useful here (that and disabling the limits on objects).

    Well, as soon as those things happen, I'll be perfectly happy.

    Well, there are several things that make my enjoyment of RCT2 dwindle, but I won't go in to them.

    Basically, right now I find the first game a lot more enjoyable and, as such, prefer to play it.

    I just think that ti looks like crap. The models they used are crappy (Im talkign about WW) everything is just out of porportion its like theyve never played teh game before. Its all really sad I think, there arnt even new coasters.

    Well, to me, it has absolutely nothing to do with the new building style. I actually kinda like the new building style, but yet I feel as if Chris/Infogrames took out a lot of "imagination" with the game. Such as:
    -Only very few new roof sets, none of which I really like (except the grey and kinda brownish one)
    I was very fond of the bright roofs and all (as you may be able to tell), and many other of the roof textures. But they took out all but 2. 2! The 2 most used ones, too (well one of them). Sure, I love the new abstract stuff, but you can also use the abstract stations in RCT1.

    I also do not mind the fact that the mountain tool has been taken out, I personally feel as if it has helped me with my parkmaking. But yet, I feel as if the architecture is the fatal flaw of RCT2, but not the way that it is made, but the terrible repetitiveness of it. Which is why the only RCT2 stuff you'll be seeing from me is "Lozo", and some RCTM group park sections.

    Thats my 2 cents...

    Only the masters can handle RCT 2 and its architecture engine. Those who cannot are not worthy....

    Okay, why all the long faces? RCT2 sucks Michael Jackson's dick or at least WW does. Shouldn't a sequel have all the features from the orginal? Not just rct and rct2 but all games and sequels. All features including new features.

    RCT1/CF/LL all had the features like the mountain tool, brick edges on land, all colors on land edges. Right?, so rct2 should have all those LL features, including the rct2 features. Am I wrong? No.

    As soon as I get my LL back, I will be playing LL 90% of the time. So yea, they sequel should have all the original features and sequel features.
