Ask the Experts / A ride partially invisible...

  • Erik van Kaldekerken%s's Photo

    Hello guys,

I was wondering how a ride can be made partially invisible (apart from hex-editing). I tried to do it with 8-cars 1.32, by using the method of alternate colors and then mark the "Completely invisible" check but that doesn't work...Maybe because I use Windows 7. But I startup RCT2 and 8-cars both with XP (servicepack 2) compatibility and it still doesn't work.

When I tried it only one turn of the ride was made invisible, the rest of the track that I wanted to be invisible was still visible...

Can anybody help me with this, because it might save a lot of work when creating slides for my waterpark...

    Thnxs,

    Erik

You could aswell merge your track into another track and then change the other track's track type to Crooked House, this will make it invisible.

You could also make all of the ride invisible and just build track through the parts of the invisible track you want visible backwards. Or lower parts of track into the invisible track.

The "make invisible" toggle in 8cars 1.32 requires objects to be built under the track you want invisible. It works by converting that object placed underneath into a "null object" which makes everything above it invisible.

You can also use the Geewhzz "make anything invisible" hack on each part of the ride you want invisible.

This may be the easiest way to do it, I used this method yesterday to make a station invisible since the default station track is really bulky and it worked like a charm.

Thnxsss for all the comments guys...I know about that method Wouter VL, I have used it all the time. But I only want to make parts of the ride invisible without setting it to "Crooked House Mode" because when I do that I lose all of the ride-intensity and so on. Even the most daring ride will turn into a low-intensity ride with that mode on. I have downloaded the Pirate Bay Waterpark, and the dude who build it also made parts of the ride invisible and via that way he kept his ride-intensity. I tried to raise the ride-intensity with the SoB-trainer but then it's not permanent. Everytime I restart the game the ride-intensity turned back to the "Crooked House Mode". So I really would like to give Geewhzz'way a try, but where can i find Geewhzz "make anything invisible" hack...I did a search on NE and Google, but I can't even find it in his own posts ?
