RCT Discussion / can someone help me out with the patches/trainers?

I have the GOG version of rct and i've been trying to download the drexler patch for it but the torrent seems to be down. can someone hook me up?

 

i think i'm fine for all the trainers but like i say, i wont know until i can get it up and working

you the man, manual. do you need a special drexler patch? all the ones i've found aren't letting me open my own old parks

This should apply the patch, if I'm remembering correctly.

isn't there another patch that you have to do before drexler, sssam? that may be why

my directory was different to what it said in the reddit thread, it was just where the GOG installer put it, do i have to change it?

yeah, GOG has no issues with RCT2. It's harder to work with trainers on the GOG version of LL, but RCT2 has no such issues. It's what I've been using the entire time i've been here

if i understand correctly you get the expansions though. bad times. bad times.

 

i'm going to guess you can just cut/paste all the files into another directory and it will all work?

can you let me know what a working directory is so i can create it? will that even work? im not smart

yeah, you can get rid of the expansion objects if you want. just move them to another folder.

Hi guys, i managed to get it working. i had to choose the directory when installing it to C:\Program Files (x86)\Hasbro Interactive\RollerCoaster Tycoon to get it all in the right place, then i just did the patch and it worked great. it took an hour or so of fucking about to get it all working.

I just bought the deluxe pack from GOG and have no clue what to do. I downloaded the GOG to Awesome file that ITM posted, but I don't know where to go from there.

 Install the GOG version and don't do anything with it. (The only thing I tested.) Alternatively, try this with the already-used GOG version you have installed. I'm 99% sure it'll work fine.

Copy install directory (...\RCT Deluxe) into a new folder on your drive. Backup your save and track folders - you will need them. Copy the pack into the same folder, overwriting files of the same name. Run RCT-1-US.exe to install the base game. Run RCT-2-[language] after that to install Loopy Landscapes under your desired language. US users: don't use the "fallback" version unless you encounter issues (not going to happen).

 

Notes

You're now running v1.20.013 - you can install the Drexler patch[1] and then run trainers (like DragonsIOA[2] orBeast[3] ). Your installation needs a no CD crack[4] if you want to delete the folder you made to install RCT1 from. If you have HDD space to spare, the quick way is to copy everything from the data folder, skipping files of the same name.

 

I'm also having problems, but maybe it's because I'm dumb. When I try to install the GOG version, an error message saying 'Can't determine size of (...)/Saved Games/001' or something like that. I already asked for help on reddit, but I guess my post got no attention.

getting the expansions isn't a big deal at all, I've used ttp for the last 8 years of parkmaking and as long as you don't accidentally make a bench with the objects its not different (and you can open the rare ww/tt park thats uploaded here)
