Yep, I'm following some series on youtube. The content they create is really outstanding

I started playing recently - base game, no mods or anything. It's nice, and I do like the unlocking aspect of the larger public service buildings. However, for me it quickly became a game of "zone more houses, zone more jobs, repeat", with the occasional civic building. I find it doesn't quite have the tinkering aspect that SimCity provided, and I find myself being drawn back more towards that instead. Undoubtedly, the traffic handler in Cities is far superior, with much better customisation, but I'm happy with the options SimCity provides. One of the joys of SimCity, I think, is the uncovering of bigger zoned buildings, like when demand for commercial hits high enough and with top land value, then a new unseen office block appears. With Cities' trait of assigning any building name to any building (within zone type and level), I feel each building has no personality, and it's just another bit of land filler. Eh, I'll give it a few more hours play to see if it grows on me, but for now, I'm still more a fan of SC4.

I can see that as I noticed that as well and it really was not fun for me playing the vanilla game with little to no modes.  But just like RCT2 for me, it was about building and not about city management.  Yes you still need to manage traffic and I do spend a good deal of time with public transportation but its about the planning of the city.  If anyone knows me or remembers my project, it was about the big picture.  There is just so much more content out there if you have the PC to support it.

Robbie - Hey there robbie.  long time no see.

Tolsimir - Indeed although Im not nearly at that level but ive found my style I enjoy.  Just enough detail to make me happy before I move on to the next area

Skylines is a really good time. Fills the City Builder void nicely, as I feel there hasn't been any really amazing ones since SC4.
