Why is Calico Canyon a design?

    "MFG"
  • inthemanual%s's Photo

because its only duelers+surroundings? or maybe its small overall size?

I'd have put it up as a park, tbh, because to me designs are generally cutouts of a park, whereas park submissions are anything self-enclosed, like Calico was.

  • bigshootergill%s's Photo

I'm just guessing at some of the reasons why we sumbitted Calico Canyon as a design:

    - The duelling RMC's were a main focal point of the submission

    - There was no entrance to the park

    - The rides around the one set of coasters were basically supporting rides (though they were awesome too!)

But I can see why it might be up for debate, as we didn't make it look like it was a smaller portion of a bigger park. But it is what it is.

While it's a shame we didn't win, it is pretty cool to have a part in a design accolade, so thanks for voting on it guys and thanks to everyone for commenting.

In my opinion the better park won here but I'm still happy with our park. I think I can speak for all three of us when I say this park started out awesome and then we all got ridiculously busy with non RCT stuff and ran out of time to play. Just a few days before this park was due Ride6 and I went on a power build (I think that Saturday between the 2 of us we probably build about 20 hours in one day lol), so it was rushed for sure (which I feel bad about, because it shouldn't have been) and those comments are totally on-point. lol

It was a lot of fun working on this park though, and holy shit Barons, you guys came up with a great park. I loved the atmosphere you guys created and if we had to lose I'm glad we lost to an awesome park.

Now bring on my "Most Obvious Builder" award! lol

So I'm late to the party but HOLY SHIT. I was very impressed by Calico but Raubritter might have just become my most favorite park of all time. I want to visit it. Please someone make it exist in real life. So much Deutsch. Can someone tell me what parks are most similar to this one so that I can go visit it as soon as possible? Good job, Robbers, you deserved the win.

Raubritter is everything but not "Deutsch"
  • MorganFan%s's Photo
Sorry I saw it was tagged "Germany" on the screenshot and download page so I assumed so. My apologies, I struggle to distinguish cultures sometimes.
  • wheres_walto%s's Photo
Its German themed, but the Germans on the site don't like it lol
  • Lotte%s's Photo

probably because germany is very diverse when it comes to culture. there's dozens of different cultures in germany each with different building styles so making something themed after one style and calling it german isn't going to fit germans well since a lot of people tend to think what's around them is the most common and therefore the most "deutsch"

that's how I think it is atleast

  • Tolsimir%s's Photo
Yeah thats my point, it is themed to bavaria/schwaben (south germany). But you can't say it is generally german. I don't blame you americans though because the image the park gives is just the image that is the cliche over there about germany :p
