Ask the Experts / TT and WW objects without the disc?

  • Jappy%s's Photo

There are a few old Dutch parks I've recovered from my old laptop which need WW and TT. I don't want to install those discs for obvious reasons, but all the object files are on my old laptop since TT and WW is installed on that. Is it possible to copy the necessary objdat from my old laptop and install them on my new one without having to use the discs? Or will that cause problems?

I don't think so... But you should just install WW+TT. I have them installed and they don't bother me. I don't even notice them.

What parks do you have? Old RCT-Guide stuff by any chance?

Well, the parks that require TT and WW are Biesbospark and El Lago Adventura. Also, a version from De Efteling 2010, which I remember did actually look really cool.

I have some RCT-Guide parks which xJur sent me, De Keukenhof, Heijderplas, Oldewijk, Natuurpark De Gouden Leeuw and La Fôret des Miracles.

There's a tag coded into dats that tells RCT to require WW or TT. People hacked them away for some dats, so as to convert WW/TT park to be RCT2 vanilla friendly. Technically illegal, but who ever cared. It's the only method I think.

Could also try creating a restore point in windows, installing the expansions, viewing your parks, and restoring windows. Not sure this will be 100% clean though.

Can you send all those parks to me, Jappy? I don't think I have all of those!

    I would like them too.

  • Jappy%s's Photo

    I'll send them to you!

Can you send me a copy too?

The thing is as far as I know those TT and WW objects take up valuable slots which could be more useful for beautiful custom scenery instead of those tacky nonsense. I sometimes like to hand-pick my objects one by one instead of using a bench, and with too much objectdata, you get the problem of being unable to scroll... What can you guys recommend?

    Parkdat is your friend.

EDIT: To be fair you can just uninstall/delete the relevant objects after viewing as well.

I use RCT2 object previewer to check objects on my computer, use rct2objectlist.com to find the objects I need online, use parkdat to add what I find to the current park.
