Ask the Experts / Can't open LL workbenches, "file contains invalid data"

Recently I decided to give LL a try after basically not touching one after I got 2 like 8 years ago. My copy is long gone so I pirated a copy (is this taboo?) and found that program that unlocks all the scenarios. Yet when I try to load any of the workbenches I found here, I get this error? I would appreciate any suggestions to fix this

It sounds like you either didn't get the Drexler patch installed properly or corrupted the .DATs in your install.  Is the copy you have the Deluxe edition?  

Yeah, it's the deluxe edition. So that might be the problem then huh? I couldn't find any downloads other than the deluxe, would I be better off just putting in the couple bucks?

nowadays its hard enough to find not-deluxe versions that I recommend going the GoG route.  (Not sure if the GOG2Awesome patch will work with your downloaded version, but you could give it a shot.)
