TEA NextGen helped Sean McChesney go from Roller Coaster Tycoon to a real job in themed entertainment

For those not aware, the Themed Entertainment Association is the (mostly US but to some degree international) industry group for theme park stuff.  If you're interested in figuring out how to make RCT into a job you could do worse than to check them out.

I am actually a NextGen member for the TEA myself, although I am most definitely not him... yet!  :p So far I have been lucky enough to attend one of their events that took place at Legoland Florida last month, and I must say that being a part of the TEA is definitely well worth the time and money. In fact, looking back on the event I would say that that was the best $11.50 I have ever spent. The connections you make and the things you learn from going to even just one event will last a lifetime, and I guarantee you that the opportunities that the TEA presents you will not be available elsewhere.

I'll echo ][ntamin by saying I would suggest all of you check them out and consider joining even if you do not have much free time or money as the benefits of being a part of this organization are just too good to ignore. As for pricing I believe the entry fee for NextGen members (student members) was only fifty dollars, and I'm not sure for a regular membership, but again it is just too good to not join.

It doesn't say much about his RCT work being excessively good, so he could easily been a simple campaign player like how most of us started. When I was 8 I wanted to become a Rollercoaster designer solely based on this game. Didn't even know how to finish Pokey Park back then.

For the other part; it does look interesting. At least for some members. I wonder what they would do if they'd see Ivo's Taboo or FK's Swoon.

I haven't re-upped for a year or so; TEA events are pretty limited if you aren't in LA or Orlando, sadly.
