Screenshot link isn't working. Interested in seeing the park though, multiplayer is quite intriguing to me. Haven't been able to set up a server yet, but its definitely something I want to do in the future.

Put a mirror for the screenshot g force, the first link is still working for me? hmm can't wait for you to see it :D

its the snow map on the front page with the pixel art gee.

I seriously miss the days of building huge, ridiculous parks like that one. lol

Seems like you're using the expansion packs, I can't join the server. A lot of those servers seem to use expansions.
  • janisozaur%s's Photo

I think most people got their copies from either steam or gog, which only provide triple thrill packs, so these eventually get used on those servers.

We transfer custom objects over network, but for original assets, well, you need to provide them by yourself, as distributing them would be most likely illegal.

Isn't having expansions popular over here on NE?

  • Liampie%s's Photo
Not at all. The expansions are pretty fucking awful so most of us don't want it anywhere near our computers...
  • Xeccah%s's Photo

Liam, I'm gonna make a ww/tt only park and pwn ur preconceptions

  • dust%s's Photo

I would double check your build number is the same as mine before anything else. I have the build I am currently using on the my steam group member main page(http://steamcommunit...m/groups/DMSRCT) Liampie,

Also  the expansions have mostly crap but there are other fixes I believe they do to the game that should be worth getting them for, I'm sure janisozaur could comment towards that...

Also I've bought the games of course but sometimes having a digital copy is handy. I onced searched a bay full of pirates for "triple thrill pack" and found the only thing I needed... *wink*

I just avoid joining servers that have the expansion objects included, but then I can't connect to any servers at the moment because my network version differs from the current develop build.

On an unrelated note, does anyone know why the expansion packs don't use RLE? All base game objects are RLE compressed, but no expansion objects are. I found that strange.

Off the top of my head, I can give you two possible reasons:

    * The expansion packs seemed too small (compared to then-standard 700MB CD) for its asking, so in an effort to artificially inflate value they did not compress the assets. I have no way (or will) of verifying that.

    * The un-RLE'd objects compress much better with any other decent algorithm*, perhaps they were prepared for being distributed as ZIP or something else.

I hear the expansion packs are of low quality, perhaps someone had simply forgotten to flip the switch?

*We make use of that in OpenRCT2 when streaming maps over network. RLE gets disabled and we compress with zlib instead.
