RCT Discussion / H2H3, H2H4, and H2H5 park links are all dead

I think everyone knows about the seeming loss of the H2H1 parks, but I became curious, and while I was able to successfully recreate the entire season of H2H2, all of the download links for every thread in the H2H3, H2H4, and H2H5 forums are dead. Does anyone have these parks, or is there a way to track them down? The threads look detailed enough to recreate the matches but with all of the parks missing there isn't much point.

All the parks are in the database now, such as:

    https://www.nedesign...580/lenox-mall/

    https://www.nedesign...belmont-shores/

All the download links should be working.

That seems to work for 4 & 5, but not 3. The threads for 2 are still active and those parks are hosted, and 4 & 5 made it into the database (even if their download links in those threads are broken) so what changed for H2H3?

I'm not sure I understand. As far as I know, all H2H parks with the exception of the missing H2H1 parks and the missing H2H1 theads, all H2H parks are in the database and linked to their respective topics. H2H7 parks being linked indirectly through an url in a comment.

For example, here, if you click the download links you get a 404. If you try to search for those parks in the database (Escape from Rockwood Prison, Orange County) you get no results. In the H2H4 and H2H5 threads the links do not work but the parks can still be found by searching the database. Annoying with 20sec flood control enabled, but doable.

EDIT: Turns out Orange County does seem to exist in the database, but here is another example - both links 404, no results when searched.

All four parks work for me. Just click at the very top, where both parks are linked to the database. Then download them from the database

Yeah, you need to download it from the park page itself, not the link in the thread.

For a little more specificity, MCI is referring to the "View Parks" link at the very top of the page under the banner. I imagine the "Download Here" links in the actual body of the forum posts are leftover from old versions of NE before the park database system was put in place. Maybe an admin could just remove these at some point to avoid confusion, but I think that's low priority.

It's just hard to go back to all past H2H posts and update the links manually. It's not worth it. That said, apparantly it is not clear that the topic you were looking at contains two database entries. Room for improvement in the design there.

Yeah, somehow I just totally missed that at the top (which is weird, because H2H8 worked the same way) - I guess I was just stuck on autopilot from sifting through all of the H2H2 threads and looking for the links.

Clean archiving of our past contests is something that may never happen. You just have to click a bit further.
