i want your opinion, as i installed it earlier today, and this is my first building.

    I'd like to thank Turtleman:

rcturtleman: because actually that archy is fucking ugly

For the help, thanks turtleman!!, your a great pal! whoopee!! :it:

Actually, I think it's pretty good! My only suggestion is that it needs a few more wall textures.

    Good job.

Looks okay. Pretty good for a first, actually. Try to make it more random and add some texture (especially where the path is, the wall is just empty!). Oh yeah, and add some awnings. They always spice up my buildings.

Well you want your buildings to be complex right?

Yes, never do shapes such as 2x3 or 1x3. It looks blocky with that way of doing it. It looks real nice but it needs more small shapes. And roof textures. Get rid of all the 2x3 and 1x3 shit. It's ugly.

And also, make your buildings interact with the paths. You know what I mean.

    I do 2x3 stuff sometimes...
  • posix%s's Photo
    I think it's nice.
Mixing textures doesn't mean it get's better. You have to use them thoughtfully and not just throw them together. Therefore, I like it alot that you only used one here. I really doubt it'd look better with another.
The building itself is quite nice too. Looks medieval, has nearly no flaws and is just very nice to look at. It isn't too small either. I don't know how people call this 2x2 when it's actually about 4x5 or something. Besides, it isn't the typical noob-2x2-shit style. The only bad thing (if you can call it "bad") is that it's symmetrical. Still, I wouldn't change it. It's a very good start. Maybe add paths as overhangs.
The only thing I don't like is the foliage. I think you have too many 1/4 trees too close together. I don't like the look of all 4 types together either. Then those Fatha' and Padoga trees make it a horrible mix. Also, a medieval theme without yellow or red 1/4 flowers just misses something in my opinion.
Anyway, keep up the good work.

I dont have many complaints, just a few suggestions. First off, the contrast on the brown bath in too strong, try maybe changing the land color under it to dirt so it doesnt stand out as much. My only other problem is the very top, and how its lower than the two sections around it. I would raise it so its still flat but the land is one square higher, maybe two.

I think it would maybe look better if you never had the fences going across on the roof. Leaving the brown roofed tile on show.

thanks for the comments and suggestions, well, i have been practising, well, not really, anyway, i did a couple more buildings, here:

theres bound to be something wrong with it, and..the map i am using is glitch city..thanks to Turtleman ;)X

a personal thing....plants don't grow on bulidings, so don't put them on buildings (in reference to the shrubry/hedge on the roof)
  • Fatha'%s's Photo
Aff more flowers, brightens the atmosphere up.
  • Micool%s's Photo
The style of that first screen looks vaguely familiar... In fact, very familiar. I like both though. And I do agree about the flowers, or at least some more track. One of the main reasons I like to use coaster track as theming is that the color choice is much wider. Coaster track and fences are the only way to fit colors like blue, purple, orange and teal into your architecture.

Don't it make you just burst with pride?

I like the hedges. They make it colourful. Hell, the hedges are what make the Peter Pan area in Ozone's park so fabulous.

    Do not underestimate the hedge!
  • Circéus%s's Photo
I agree here. but this seems to be a particular case: with all the greenery around, the edges don't look out of place to me, so I say do add flowers, but not too much or the edges will start looking bad IMHO.

I love hedges. They look great. Good stuff Marshyboy.
  • Marshy%s's Photo

    Marshyboy.

    grrrrrr

anyway, here's some more i did today:

    here.

This looks quite nice. That's the very first time I see a big Virginia Reel in a designer park o.O Not bad (just unthemed XD).

Maybe a bit too much 2x2 with flat roofs and fences. They're a bit repetitive. Also that incomplete enclosure on the right in really ugly (Sorry, had to get it out :p)

Outside that, I think it's really good.

why is the land all flat?!
    in anycase, very simple stuff.
