General Chat / Terminator 3: Rise of the Machines

I just got back from seeing it (check your local theater they'll be showing at 12 if your lucky, but I got to see it at 8!) and it is marvelous. The fact that it is the third, not directed by James Cameron...grr, and that the second was stunningly better than the first I was afraid they would ruin the Terminator's image, but alas, I was proven wrong. Special effects were stunning (one was gruesome), action sequences are intense, and an interesting ending that leaves room for the inevitable Terminator 4. Overall, it was a very nicely done movie, to bad they didn't use the theme song throughout the movie, I was expecting several times to hear: dun dun dun dun dun dun...

I thought this was said to be the absolute last Terminator?
  • Prince%s's Photo
Nope, you know hollywood, there will be a fourth and they could possibly drag it on to be a fifth but if they do that they will definantely ruin the series.

If they do, it will come out 6-12 years later. Since Terminater 2 came out 12 years ago.

I cant wait to see it!

Probably an update to the Universal Park films too, followed by a watered-down animated series for Fox Kids, and quite possibly a direct-to-video prequel about the childhood of a Terminator robot.

I too had writtten off this movie as crap, but then i saw it and i was proven wrong. This movie kicks ass, and i think it is now my favorite of the three. When i first saw the trailers i was like.. female terminator? i had the same reaction when i heard star trek Voyager had a female capitan. Kristanna Loken does a great job as a TX, she pulled it off wonderfully. The story make sense although you could tell there were serious holes in the story (which they closed throughout the film). The special effects were very well done (except for a few obvious green screen parts) ,the car chases were awsome! The way they finished the film really opens the door to another trillogy if they wanted. They wouldn't even have to use arnold, they could make up a scenario where john's wife programs a different one (if you saw the movie you'll know what i meant by that.). Anyways, awsome film, better than i expected. four 1/2 stars.

Wow, sounds like its actually good, maybe I'll have to go see it now.

I'm actually pretty sure this is the last Terminator.
They were pretty definitive about that during the making of it, and they knew they'd be getting a ton of money from it.
They said they don't wnat to turn the movie series into a joke, and having Terminator 4, etc. would do just that.
Arnold is washed up, he's done.

Anyways, Kristanna Loken is hot, and a good actress so I'll be seeing themovie.

It may be hard to do a 4th film if the Terminator is bussy "saving California from the growing threat of Democrats".

Arnold is getting too old for this. It's like the new Indiana Jones they're making with Harrison Ford. These people are getting senior cokes at McDonald's they shouldn't be crackin whips, or battle evil robots.

    Anyways...

I plan on seeing the movie tomorrow afternoon. It looked pretty good from the previews, and I figured hey what the hell.

I'm telling you i think we will see a 4th. The Terminator makes referance to the final battle between the resistance and the machines, and the prevailing of the resistance. The could do a totally kick ass movie on that alone, and they wouldn't need Arnold to do that. Go see the movie and you will see what i mean.

I just got back from seeing it. It was fantastic. Although, i don't think they should make a terminator 4, i think it was a great way to end the trilogy. But if they do make a 4th, they shouldn't do it anytime within the next 5 or 6 years. All three Terminators were spread almost 10 years apart, and i would be weird if one came out before then.

You know that the first Terminator movie came from a dream that James Cameron had, he actually saw the "terminators" in his dream, when he woke up he immediately started to sketch the terminators. They came out to be those endo-skeleton robots, and those robots look almost exactly like in his dream. I saw it on the E! channel, they had one of those true hollywood story type things.

Yeah, I have to say that I enjoyed the film. Went to the theater this afternoon and saw it. It wasn't the greatest of movies, but it was definately entertaining. I liked the story and how they tied it in well to the 2nd film. I enjoyed seeing how John Connor becomes the leader he is supposed to be. Claire Danes looked REALLY good as usual... ;)

All in all I give it an enthusiastic 3.5 out of 5 thumbs up... or something like that.

I just saw the movie last night and I was definitely more impressed with it then I expected. Arnold didn't seem as old and retarded looking as I thought he would. Nick Stahl and Claire Daines were very good in their roles, and I think a Terminator 4 is definitely inevitable. I also think Arnold will definitely be involved in it.

They could do T4 without Ahnuld, as it's probably all leading up to the final resistance vs. skynet epic battle. The Terminator really wouldn't even be needed.

    He wouldn't be needed.
But you need to sell tickets. Whenever movies continue without their big stars, you have a drop in ticket sales.

    *cough*Dumb and Dumberer*cough*

Plus, why kick him out? He still looks respectable as the Terminator....and he still has that one *other* job to do in the future (those who have seen it know what I mean). That would be a great way to end the series.

    Very interesting info here......

According to YAHOO! , it shows T4 as a "Greg's Previews".

    ......

But then again, it said there are no words when it may produced [or released].
