Hi there folks,
so I've combined a few palettes that are popular these days into a sort of super-palette that is especially good at natural/rustic colors. The nice thing is pretty much every color on it now is super useful in a wide variety of situations, unlike some of the more outlandish ones in the base palette like the bright green, ugly olive green, weird light purple, etc.
Just put these into your usual object folder and they'll be selectable in the water/palette section of the scenery selection tab. you may need to exit the scenery selection then open it again for it to work
DKS palette with mekong browns:
DKSmekon.DAT (1.17KB)
downloads: 27DKS palette with mekong brown with magenta added (screws up a couple uncolorable textures, notably roman statues/pillars but they sorta suck anyway so no big loss IMO)
DKSmekpi.DAT (1.17KB)
downloads: 26DKS palette with mekong brown with magenta with Haystack natural ice colors: (called 'natural colors' in-game)
naturalP.DAT (1.17KB)
downloads: 41In my opinion, this is sort of the ultimate palette and supremely useful if you're into more naturey/atmospheric/historical/industrial themes. So pretty much the best themes.
natural colors palette.PNG (13.92KB)
downloads: 18Finally, heres a zip of all the image files used to make these
I also made a version of DKS where the peeps have the green skin from asteroid fields- its in my Green Plague micro. I can't remember where I saved it though- its in that park if you want it
As you can see, I'm just skilled enough to successfully hack together palettes other people made

This is great. Can we post others here also? Either I am not searching correctly, or templates aren't searchable in objects on site, so a list would be great.
Thanks Cocoa. -

In the process of working on my current project, I noticed that the magenta in the Natural Colors palette replaces some of the pixels on bare land textures; mostly noticeable on big vertical dirt walls or large patches of sloped dirt. In 90% of cases, it's not a problem.
But I was noticing it everywhere so I made a version of Natural Colors without CocoaPinkTM. Really it's only useful if you're anal about stuff like I am.
