How do you place your toilet paper roll?

Over? Or under? Or are you the person that wipes with the hand?!

I'm under guy. My cat can't roll the roll down so easily as when it would hang over. The wall gives enough friction to provide of just enough paper for a wipe.

Contrary to popular belief I'm not an under guy. Both ways have their pros and cons. I do whatever without thinking about it. Sometimes it's over, sometimes it's under, deal with it

Hanging it 'under' without owning a cat is the work of psychopaths.

In the last flats I've been living the toilet paper roll just lays around on some shelf and you unroll it in your hand. However, for fixed rolls "over" can be the only option. I didn't even know there are parts in the world where "under" is socially accepted.

Please explain me what's wrong with under and why over is so much better. Because I don't really see it.

That being said, over is far easier to use and proves you aren’t a heathen.

I'm fairly sure that the original patent for the "rolling" design system shows the roll sitting over.

According to Seth Wheeler, Sr's short bio on findagrave, over was the intended orientation of the design.

    https://www.findagra...73/seth-wheeler

"Among his patents is U.S. Patent 465,588 - December 22, 1891 for "Toilet-Paper Roll", which shows that the end should be outside, away from the wall."

Note that this is a man's memorial, and someone still chose to highlight which way the toilet paper should be facing.
