Custom Scenery Exchange / Tile/block request

  • Dutton%s's Photo
Hope somebody can help me out, what I'm needing is a tile/block I don't know which would be easier to make. What I need on the tile/block is half tarmac to match full extended tarmac path and the other half of the tile grass. Almost forgot the tile needs to be diagonal in orientation. Is this possible to make? Tia for any help

I assume you're trying to make something like this, with a diagonal piece on the corner?

This can be achieved by lowering the corner of the land piece, then disabling clearances (which can be found by enabling cheats from the options menu) and placing a half-tile tarmac piece on that corner tile. Like this:

That piece can be found in most modern custom scenery workbenches. https://www.nedesign...g/91/workbench/

Yes thats exactly my problem I have seen people do the way you have just shown but for me unfortunately I do not have have a way to use openrct2 disable clearance. So would there be anyway to get a tile/block with half extended tarmac and half grass diagonal so I could build diagonal paths with no cheats? I no its looked down on in the rct2 community but the only way I can play is through classic on phone thanks for you time and help.

Yes, you could do that. But honestly, I think it would be better to make a custom path object that has diagonal sprites in place of standard corner sprites. That doesn't seem to be the preferred way of doing things on NE but it would be easier to build with and you wouldn't need a separate object to match each land texture.

The downside is that you then can't make a 90 degree corner. You could work around that by making it so the queue line sprites look the same but without diagonals, then you could queue line for corners that need to be sharp - or just use the vanilla path objects where you need to.

Are there any paths out there now that already have diagonal sprites that replace the normal corner sprite? I would just have to use vanilla tiles to get the 90 degree corners when I need them.

If there is a way to get the half extended tarmac half grass tile/block I would only need that one because im only using grass and tarmac on my first park to get used to the game. Thanks again for the help and advice.

Is this type of path what you are looking for. It has a diagonal corner.

Yes it's perfect thanks, just tryed this path out and it's exactly what I was needing. Now I'm off to learn the build process now I have more freedom with paths.

That's bullshit! It's not looked down on. :) You are more limited in some ways, but you can still make great things. We recently had a no hacks and no custom scenery contest and people managed to produce some very pretty stuff.

Good to hear I was wrong just from looking through a few forums it felt like if its not openrct ur Park will be lacking in one way or another. I will take a look at the page you have linked soon I've not looked at many parks since I've started playing because I don't want to subconsciously build things I've seen in other parks. Just need to find a bench I can work with now.
