    Introduction

Welcome to the second edition of New Element Flash Challenge (NEFC). NEFC is all about speed and efficiency, as well as your ability to translate an abstract concept into an RCT map. Whereas with NEDC, you would usually be given a layout to build a small map around, in Flash Challenge you are given just a keyword.

    Keyword

We will introduce a tradition for NEFC where the winner of the previous edition gets to choose the keyword for the next one. As you'll remember, Pacificoaster's beautiful New Element Kingdom had won last time, and thus Pac got to pick from a couple of options we presented. They keyword for NEFC2 will be:

    Transition
Our discord's resident challenge creator and long time NE expert dr dirt has kindly helped to put this choice into perspective:
Your objective is to use the keyword “transition” as the basis for an RCT work. Consider how “transitions” may be used in the subject matter, theme, aesthetic, and/or design (or other applications) in your work. Think of ways that you can create transitions on multiple levels - you may choose to make transitions within the visual aesthetic or tackle a theme of a historical shift or place your park within a changing setting (perhaps the time of year). Get creative and brainstorm unique ways of utilizing and exemplifying “transitions.”

    Rules

The rules have stayed mostly the same to NEFC1:
    1. You must include an interpretation of the keyword "transition".
    2. You may cooperate with other players to create your entry. You can send in as many solo or group entries as you like. However, it will be the admins' discretion to choose which and how many of your entries will enter the contest.
    3. Your map can be no smaller than 1600 tiles, and no larger than 3600 tiles.
Any violation of these rules may result in a penalty or total disqualification
Info Please note that NEFC1's restrictions of NCSO and no hacks are no longer part of this edition. You may use any objects (and workbench) you like, and do hacks to your heart's content.

I've got an idea and I've got a little bit of time. If I find the right partner, I'll enter as one half of a duo...

  • RWE%s's Photo

If anyone still looks for a partner for the challenge, i might also be available for a duo or a group submission! Probably not having the time for a solo, but i could contribute to something in the next days!
