For a long time I have wished for a resource for newcomers to our community that was accessible and covered the topics that were perhaps more important to the New Element crowd than other significant communities. This being such a nebulous and oft debated set of topics, I applied myself to learn more about the fundamentals of the game, the stuff that comes before all of the hacking, all of the technicalities of rollercoasters, all of the ultradetail of architecture. All this, to hopefully set newcomers to the community along a road of progress that can let them achieve their vision of building a park in the same way that a hacking tutorial helps them achieve their dream of a custom swinger ride.
That's why I started to create Fundamental Forest, a YouTube series for those wanting to take their first steps from scenario play over to the wide, wonderful world of Sandbox RCT. Fundamental forest uses no hacks, uses no custom objects, no fancy bells and whistles. It simply uses the skills a builder will have acquired from simple scenario play and applies that instead to creating a contemporary theme park to a realistic standard.
It is my hope that over the course of the series we can cover macro, foliage, ride design, building placement, and even more philosophical topics that help inform WHY we are building, such as considering realistic motivations for decision making.
I would be very grateful indeed if you could join me in welcoming any new members as you have done so often before. I would also thank you deeply for interacting with the video on Youtube - Likes and Comments go a long way to show YouTube that people are responding to the video and show it to even more people, increasing the likelihood that it will find new members for the community.
I am looking forward to enjoying this journey with you all, and hopefully persuading some new members to join our ranks.

This is a great idea and I can think of nobody better suited to tackle it. Was the file uploaded supposed to be the blank bench? I was under the impression it was supposed to be the progress in the video.
I agree with what posix said about video timestamps, as they would help it feel more evergreen and easily referenced.
My only thoughts are maybe a few more moments of instruction on how to use things like the hotkeys, CTRL/SHIFT/Z in particular, the picker tool, scenery clearing, landscaping vs painting brush. The path window and selecting different support types is a little nuanced too. I think for broad project management and keeping momentum you really nailed it.
Looking forward to the future episodes and especially ride design insights. Cowboy mining seemed to be what you had some ideas for and I'm interested in what you would do for the architecture in a spooky area.

MTC - thank you my friend!!
Gustav - community is all about debt to one another and paying it all forward
Milo - excellent suggestions - those things you mentioned very much sink into the background when you have been playing as long as you or i. it becomes as natural as breathing but would go long strides to helping others to improve. Maybe I should make a dedicated video for those things you suggested... lets make a list together:
-hotkeys, ctrl/shift/z etc
-scenery picker
-scenery clearing
-landscaping vs land painting
-the path menu
what other ones jump out to us that we can put in a short video?
