Ask the Experts / 2 Questions - Scenery Groups, Dynamic Dashbord

    Hello everyone :),

This is my first post, so please forgive me if I'm doing something wrong here :p I have three questions regarding the above topics:

    1) I would like to create my own scenario groups, using a mix of .dat and .parkobj files. I then saw that this is possible with a .json file that I have to create. For me, it looks like this:

    M7jDG8.png (882×1016)

The logos and object files are all in my object folder. The .json file is also there. It also shows me this group:

However, the group doesn't appear in the scenery picker. What's wrong with me? :)

Is there a tutorial for this?

    2) The second question I have is the Dynamic Dashboard plugin. This plugin crashes the entire game for me... do I need to configure anything else?

Thanks in advance for your help :)

I relayed the question to our discord for you. Six Frags responded with:

I have some sort of tutorial on my workbench discord, which should answer the errors he made (I see a .dat without $DAT: in front of it for example and for his images he has ''\/'' which I think is wrong)..

Thanks for your quick reply :) I'm a complete newbie and I don't know exactly where to find this workbench discord?! :) What should I use instead of /\? :)

Do you have any ideas about my second question and the plugin? :)

    Best regards :)

It's possible to build parkobj scenery groups with this website I think: https://goes.rctspac...m/scenery-group

I think for your issue you need to ensure the DATs are properly formatted like this for example. The first part is the "checksum":

    "$DAT:00000001|AE-PCACT",

And I believe the images should be in this format:

    "path": "images/0.png"

I would also suggest building this in a separate project folder somewhere to avoid cluttering your object folder. That way you can zip it to a parkobj file and are then able to share it.

I haven't heard of the Dynamic Dashboards plugin. There is a website for plugins, you may be able to find the original creator/github project there: https://openrct2plugins.org/

New Element has a discord by the way, you might get quicker answers there: https://discord.gg/TeDkefn
