Undead Parish
Sometimes, RCT gets combined with other games. From GTA 5 to Mario Kart to Age of Empires: Many games have been paid tribute in the form of RCT creations of various styles and scales. To open up this years advent calendar, we combine RCT with arguably one of the most frustrating games ever created (at least for people new to the game). So come on a trip into the Undead Parish!

I need to do Guess The Game as well since I don't recognize the name Undead Parish. Frustrating for new players makes me think it's a Souls-like and with the gothic architecture and undead theme, is it Bloodbourne?

Glassware Lake
We are keeping it going with the old-school vibes. But after exploring the darkness of Dark Souls we are heading towards a much more friendly and warm vibe. This little creation features a classic christmas train traveling through a snowy and glass-covered landscape.

Great first couple of entries, very different vibes!
Undead Parish - not familiar with the source material but the atmosphere is super cool and the stacked spooky fences provide a great dark, gothic architecture.
Glassware Lake - classic style from an instantly recognisable builder. Super cosy!

Exciting to see the entries coming in! A real contrast so far in theme but fun to see two LL entries in a row!
Undead Parish - I'm also unfamiliar with what this is based on but I can still appreciate the quality here. Great architecture and landscaping.
Glassware Lake - I can guess who made this! And I love it as always. Feels like putting on a favourite woolly jumper for the winter haha.

Advent
After a very old-school start we continue our journey with this unnamed entry. It depicts a simple, snow-covered island in a wise ocean with the stars shining above it. As those of us on the northern hemisphere head for the coldest days of the year, this entry gives us a chance to mentally prepare.

Undead Parish: I haven't played Dark Souls but this is a pretty faithful homage to the game within the constraints of LL! Love the use of Codex here and the stacked spooky walls is a really unique look. The stacked gravestones do a good job breaking up the walls as well. Foliage is a bit chaotic but turned out really well, complete with the Poke-style wilted flowers. The staff filling in for Solaire and the enemies is a great final touch. Guessing Lilith.
Glassware Lake: Just some good ol' fashioned RollerCoaster Tycoon. Abstract and snowy objects work surprisingly well tomorrow, almost like they're glass Christmas ornaments. Honestly the lack of a coaster in this one is more a positive than a negative to me. It makes this map feel especially chill and cozy. Forgive me if I'm forgetting how snow works, but I feel like the placement of the snowy trees in comparison to the snowy ground could make a little more sense. Right now it feels a little random. Guessing ummmm uhhhhhh

Advent: What's there is really really nice. Foliage and landscaping are really detailed for such a small scale. The blue ice in direct juxtaposition to the white Locomotion snow doesn't look very convincing IMO. I think a palette like Mount Haystack's could have been used to make things look more consistent. Then again ice can look very blue on a sunny day.
My mind said Version1 at first but there's one sticking point; the DKMP trees tab. I don't feel like many builders who signed up willingly import the DKMP tabs unless they come from that neck of the woods. There's a few exceptions but their styles don't line up with this. Based on the one CSO screenshot he's posted and how the overall style of foliage lines up, I am going to make the wildest guess of my life and say that this is TimmyTuner taking a stab at CSO. I don't know why I do this to myself. I may have issues.

Ahh this 'Advent' one is cute. Very peaceful. Might have been nice to add a peep scene or something to the island to help with the storytelling (who put that boat there?) but I guess it's quite mysterious this way! Not a clue who made it haha

Model Village
In the media, christmas is often portrayed as a time of grand scale. Big families come together to have a big feat and then opening heaps of presents before a huge christmas tree. In reality, however, the smaller things often make this time so magical. The silly show you watch on every Christmas Eve, the special treat you eat only on this coldest of nights. Remember: It's a small world after all.

downloads: 24PS: As of today we have hit 13 submissions, so still some way to go to get it over the line. For anyone thinking about ´building something, I just hope the entries to this point provide ample motivation.
PPS: Please excuse the bad work on today's screenshot.

Adorable work here. Huge fan of miniature dioramas and plays on scale with creative object usage. The default ferris wheel, which is usually very small by realistic standards, becoming a London Eye looming over the miniature village is such a funny idea. My gripe here is I kinda wish the miniature car and train rides were peepable a la Riverland to really immerse the peeps in this miniature world. I also feel like straight up resizing rides as objects feels like a bit of a cheat code, but I can't deny it gets the feel of a miniature RCT park across better than other approaches. With the clever ideas and custom rides, it's hard not to guess Roomie.

This one is an absolute joy - so cute! Reminds me of Miniatur Wunderland in Hamburg. All the new custom content brings it to life with the movement. And the music adds to the atmosphere of course. Love it. Would also guess Roomie based on some clues

Advent - A simple but intriguing scene with a bit of mystery to it. The cracked ice is a nice effect.
Model Village - Haha, the tiny versions of custom rides and city cars are ridiculous, very inventive. The city scape is super fun too. -

Polar Express
After the sheer excitement yesterday we are yet again back with one of the favourites of this event format: Small, maps with little in terms of action but a lot of atmosphere and heart. This entry shows us the Polar Express in a snowy, nighttime setting with the stars sparkling above and a rocky mountain forming the backdrop. All aboard!

Another great one - so atmospheric! Looks especially good zoomed out a bit so the textured are finer grained. Such a vibe!

Magnetosphere
The previous doors ranged from realistic to artistic, but we haven't had a proper abstract entry yet. But no fear for all fans of wacky shapes and colours since today's entry brings all the visual wonder many of us love. This map showscases a quick coaster in a void of color.
One question remains: Magnets...how do they work?

Century of Progress
We only had two installments of this non-contest but surely, the "winter version of a previously released park" has already become a staple. This would have been easy points in "Guess the builder" as it is a winter version of a gold winning park from 2024. So, don't just look at today's entry but also the park it was based on.

Polar Express: Woooooow. This is the kind of RCT that makes me want to build something myself. The use of lighting is the high- wait for it- light here. The blinding yellow lights from the passenger cars and the way they reflect on the snow looks stellar. Alex's new objects are putting in serious work here. I also love the crunchy snow textures, although I wish they accentuated the direction of the train a little more. It does falter a bit when you turn the camera though, as some of the mountains appear a little glitchy. I also agree with Xophe that it looks better zoomed out.
I am really not sure who did this one! My spider senses aren't tingling like they usually do. I have kind of a crazy hunch that this one is Lasketchup, and if it is then what a hell of a first release. Please finish and upload a full park to NE, you're a monster. I think it could just as easily be Hex or Scoop but I'm gonna lock in Lasketchup for the vine.
Magnetosphere- Love me some abstract RCT. Centerpiece coaster is a banger, albeit with a few awkward little bumps here and there. The way the "supports" dance around the track looks so cool and I love the use of clipping differently colored track into each other so it glows. The surroundings are an effective take on an abstract theme with the limited bench. I like how it almost feels a little Christmassy but doesn't at the same time. I'm pretty positive this one is Lurker as it has his style and a few specific elements from a DKMP entry this one reminded me of.
Century of Progress: Bro whose mans is this? Who could have possibly made something like th- OK joke's over. Century of Progress is such a sick design with some unbelievable DKSO architecture, but it also suffers from becoming overwhelming and unreadable especially near the bottom. In this wintry take, the snow binds everything together and tones down the color palette just a tad. Because of this, I think this is a genuine improvement over the original! Additionally, not being within the fines of a DKMP contest means some extra CSO gets to shine and add a ton of atmosphere. There really is something new everywhere you look. Only thing is the falling snow objects do get to be a little bit much. They're justified though, as the default snowy weather turns the entire park purple. Another common banger from the illustrious Jaguar.

Woohoo more doors to open!
Magnetosphere - very cool! I'm guessing this is embodying an aurora in coaster form? Great idea and it does give that shimmery ethereal feel. Fun use of glass and other weird objects floating in the void. Reminds me of Stonehenge so I'd hazard a guess at Bluetiful Monday?
Century of Progress - so much content in here! I missed the original release so I'm seeing the snowy version first. And I like it! Very busy and verging on chaotic but it gives that jolly Christmas atmosphere. I like the DKSO-meets-CSO mashup too - definitely some weird objects around the map but I love all the wreaths and garlands everywhere. The indoor section inside the buildings at the back was a highlight. Now I need to go and check out the original version! No need to guess the builder here haha
