Grand Final - Wonders of the Future World

    > 2100

The Grand Final is here, and our time machine has flung us into the far future! For the championship round, we're challenging you to imagine a modern day landmark or Wonder as it might look many years from now. How will our distant descendents view them and their purpose, and what kind of world will that look like?
    Objectives
    • Your park must be set in or themed to the far future.

    • Your park must feature an existing modern day landmark or Wonder as it might look many years from now. Examples may be the New 7 Wonders of the World or a famous modern structure such as the Sydney Opera House or Eiffel Tower.

    Voting

Before voting, please ensure you have viewed all entries below. The first question asks you to evaluate which park or parks have met the above Objectives the best. The second question asks you to choose the park or parks with the highest Quality. You may vote for multiple parks in each question. The poll will be closed in approximately 5 days, after which the total vote for each park will calculated and the park with the highest number of votes will be declared the Champion!

AJ's Lincoln Center AJ- The Lincoln Center is home to the New York Opera, Ballet, and Symphony! This park celebrates music and art, all the colors of life, and everything I love about RCT. Huge layout, PLANTS, buildings of all shapes and sizes, and LOG FLUMES!! The coaster is inspired by John Adam's Short Ride in a Fast Machine, and the log flume is named after one my favorite composers, who I share a birthday with! The music is from my favorite sci-fi, The Fifth Element! I hope yall enjoy my finals entry as much as I've loved building over this entire contest!

Temple of the Mouse God Archaeological Park hypnopompia (50%) & Xophe (50%) Since the repopulation of Earth, historians have been piecing together the fragments of the ancient civilisation that collapsed during The Event. Recently, archaeologists discovered what appears to be an elaborate temple complex in the area formerly known as California. Evidence suggests that millions of pilgrims travelled to this place to worship a powerful mouse god and participate in strange rituals.
Temple of the Mouse God Archaeological Park is now open to visitors. Come and explore the excavation site, see fascinating artifacts, and enjoy safe, modern reconstructions of the barbaric rituals of The Ancients.
The Amazonian Ark Narc Life, the greatest Wonder of the known universe. As the Earth lay dying, desperate measures were taken by those who could. A few fragments, infinitely precious yet eternally insufficient, of the natural world, Earth’s greatest miracle, were taken off-world. Hypnopompia & Xophe

This is my favorite of the round! The overall aesthetics are sooooo pleasant. The texture of the moss and foliage really gets me. I think it sells the story superbly. The aging castle and two mountains are nicely juxtaposed to the fresh white and blue sci-fi buildings. The little peep scenes are quite funny, the walt witman inviting art had me and my brother LOLing. The misnamed princesses are so me, love that tons. The layers of trash in the landscape is a nice touch.

My favorite ride is the Pilgrimage! Using the ‘nonamatieral track’ looks great. Plus the western buildings at the cool angles look great too. The landscaping out here is sooooo dynamic! The cave is killllller. The Mountain Sacrifice Experience looks sick, the interaction with the landscape is top notch.

This is something ill comeback to a lot! The details in the path are inspiring, i love the centerpiece garden a ton. The architecture all has good details and shape that i wanna steal. Plus theres a great level of cohesion throughout the entire park! Plus theres just so much to find in each tiny corner but its never overwhelming. GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!

    Narc

Hell yeah Narc! Lets goooo. This is a great showing for your TTA tour finale, it wraps up your previous entries nicely. The extensive text intro was great and really sells the theme. The floating form and macro of the map is fascinating, i love the two parts. The tropical landscaping is done super well, that waterfall is great!

A 6D cinema would blow my mind! I love that. I find this coaster meanders just a bit, but i love how it sits in the map and explores every corner. The launch is sick af tho, being under the structure would be so fun. The space rings with just three hoops is cool too, nice bit of attention grabbing there!

Congrats on a great contest, this map is so fun. From the galaxy dust and massive solar panels, and floating satellites, this is all around super cool. It really sells the contest prompt.  NICE JOB!!!!!!!

    Gustav and In:Cities

This has my fav music, niceeeeee! Really looks like the album art.  This pallet is soooo dense and saturated. It really has its own life. The little monkey platforms are cute af. I hope they don't steal one or more sandwich. The big statues at the front also give me life, theyre so freakin good. The little blue glass pyramids are probably my favorite detail overall, sooooooo good.

Shout out to dive coaster divas! This layout is top notch too, I love the scale. Its MASSIVE but not overbearing. I would ride this 5 times. I think being flung around the the edge of the void by shining star -the scrambler- would be so scary.

This type of map making is such a vibe, its abstract and just so fun to explore! There no rules and this is just off the rails and so creative. As far as the prompt goes, its sooooo good. And funny enough this just sits a little more on the fantasy side than sci-fi. But also wtf does that even mean… COOL PARK!!!!!

    Leon and AVC

Now this is some sci-fi top notch rct. The music is such a vibe. The big elephant statues are just some of the best things ive ever seen in game. There is just something breathtaking in every scene. The condor going basically the same speed as the sails is so fun to watch, mesmerizing. Plus the hundred small boats everywhere just sell it so well.

The flying coaster is my favorite. The three in-line twists is always an iconic element, as well as the great pretzel loop. Both coasters are just interaction crazy! The small boats going around the park would be my fav to ride, just to see everything from the peeps POV would be crazy!

The only thing is for me, i just am a touch overwhelmed, dont totally know where to go and what to follow. But shoutout to Maxamilism, this park rules none the less. I think it nails the criteria for the round! Great landmark and great solarpunk vibe, very clear aesthetics and bold choices. SEXY PARK!!!!

  • Xophe%s's Photo

So cool to see such a variety in people’s interpretations of the objectives for this one! And it’s great to see 5 entries! Some thoughts on each…

    AJ’s Lincoln Center

Each of your entries throughout the contest has had such a fun and vibrant atmosphere so I’m happy to see the same applies here. I wasn’t familiar with the actual Lincoln Center but after checking some pics I can see you’ve captured it very accurately (such a cool set of buildings in real life) - and successfully brought in the future vibe with all the new additions. Absolutely love the smoke eaters! And the general eco-utopianism is well done with the hydroponics and solar panels and everything.

The coaster is super fun and I like how it incorporates the adverts for the different events into the supports! The last bunny hill into the brakes is such a weird shape haha but I enjoy how it perfectly lines up with the loop from the back angle.

The little peep scenes scattered around are very cute although it would have been nice to add some commentary through naming them or something so it’s more clear what the peeps are up to. The bandstand with the string quartet is such a nice moment. Oh and the soundtrack is an absolute banger of course. You always deliver with the music choices!

    Fantasy

Speaking of music - what a soundtrack to have playing whilst exploring this map. Tune! The whole map has such a strong aesthetic. Although my poor computer really struggled with the amount of animated objects haha. There’s a whole bunch of outstanding sculptures around the map - the Egyptian gods are obviously a highlight, but also all the intricate platforms and walkways and the various patterned floor surfaces are all super cool. I think the storytelling could have been stronger - it would have been nice to include some more explicit explanation of what everything is with e.g. peep scenes as I was a little lost at times. But the general vibe is undeniably cool!

    The Amazonian Ark

Love the concept of this one! Especially how you took a natural wonder rather than a manmade one. And the storytelling is really strong here. Love the guides dotted around explaining about the different biomes and species (especially the Lombardy poplar moment haha). I found the coaster a little chaotic and hard to follow although the triple swing launch is a novel touch! I think the highlight for me is the landscaping around the Amazon area with the waterfall and the lush foliage. Really nice stuff. And I think in general you deserve a big shoutout for entering almost every round of the contest - your productivity has been astounding. And you’ve obviously upped your game through each round, so hats off to you.

    SolarExpo Harit Bharat

This is huuuugely impressive. I can’t believe you guys managed to build this much stuff in the time! The fine-grained detail and all the movement from the turbines  and the water makes it feel alive. Fantastic pathing work too with great grid-breaking and some beautiful floor patterns. And a whole bunch of amazing sculptures, custom boats and air/space craft.

The only downside for me is that the map is just so densely packed that it feels a little overwhelming - maybe it’s just personal preference but I’d have loved to give each of the big moments a bit more breathing space. Feels like everything is competing for my attention all at once rather than letting me appreciate each element. Can’t deny the quality in any case - incredible work!

As for my/hypnopompia’s entry, I’ll maybe share some more thoughts after the vote but it was a huge amount of fun building together! Hypno is full of creative ideas and his custom soundtrack again elevates what we built. Really proud of what we made in 6 weeks!

Excited to see how the votes go...

    The Amazonian Ark
This is really cool, one of your best entries for sure! Music choice is wild but I think it works to add a sense of angry nostalgia/melancholy. The forest is well done, honestly one of the better portrayals of tropical rainforest foliage I've seen. The waterfall is very scenic! I also like that there's a little unpaved footpath hidden in the forest. I'm not sure why you also included a desert biome, is it meant to show what happened to the amazon? Or is it a random inclusion? I think you could've made that more clear. Also a shame that the desert gets a fake sky backdrop, but the rainforest gets a black shed background! A bigger criticism is the 'architecture', I think you should've gone to further lengths to design the park like an actual space ship, with more ship features. This just looks like a piece of park with a bunch of sheds, but with the surroundings replaced with void, exaggerating a bit. The ship features you did add (as well as the features in space itself) are very nice and I think you could've added more! But overall I really like the map. Solid coaster, solid theming, a nice amount of details (not too much to overwhelm, but enough to make me zoom in and pay attention). Well done, also on finishing something!

    SolarExpo Harit Bharat
Wow, now this is a Grand Final entry. Super dense, strong aesthetics. Wild concept too, though the formula is pretty simple. Take a geographical region, and cross it with a stylistic movement. India x Solarpunk. It sounds so easy, but thinking of a combination that just works and that can be developed further requires some intuition... When I see the map I can instantly recognize the monument you recreated, nice job. Nice job integrating it in this crazy environment too. The rest of the map is full of impressive and unique content, but I must also say it's a tad hard to read due to the density and the verticality of the structures. But yeah, whatever I focus on, I love. I guess the best way to review this is to list everything that I liked the most. 1) Surya - the intergration and the colours, beautiful!; 2) The Windfarm, what an amazing structure. This would've made for a 10/10 micro too; 3) The solar sailboat - actually looks like https://en.wikipedia...sailing_yacht); 4) The way the solar panels are integrated in the Gangajal temple complex; 5) The cablecore area in the back, quite star wars-y. Nice to see a solarpunk variation that is more grimy; 6) The rocket launch structure, such a cool shape; 7) The dragonfly ship is great, but adding a lotus shape underneath elevates it; 8) Giant sundial in the center, love it; 9) last but definitely not least, in fact my favourite feature... The mechanical elephants. One of the coolest things I've ever seen. Overall, fantastic entry, nearly perfect, but I will deduct points for suboptimal readability. 95%

    Temple of the Mouse God
What a great idea well done! Not only is it funny how artefacts from our current time are being interpreted by outsiders in the distant future, it also questions everything that we think we know about our own past. It's a shallow outsider's criticism at the academic field of history, but not entirely irrelevant I think. On the other hand, perhaps it's not as far off as you'd think at first. Mouse god? Capitalism is sometimes treated as a religion, with 'the economy' being the supreme value, whatever it may be. And the faces of this are the megacorporations that actually do get worshipped by a worrying amount of people. Apple fans, Disney adults... Anyway, thoughts on the park (as I'm wearing an IKEA hoodie). I like the nod to Kennedy Space Center, lumped in with all the junk the archeologists are digging up. Everest looks great, I like the caves/holes. Very smooth. In general the park has some good caves btw, one of the best stalacmite caves I've seen in the game. The dark ride is really fun! And funny too. My favourite structure on the map is the glass cover that you put on some of the stations. It resembles the glass awnings you sometimes see on historical excavations around the world. Some great details are the anachronistic signs on the western buildings (IBM saloon! Hell yeah), the anti gravitic water, the bus emerging from the ground, and the plastic layers in the earth. Small point of criticism, the layer in which human presence is shown isn't consistent around the map! And I think that if you go to this length to portray the strata all around the map, they could've been less horizontal, as this is clearly a terrain with a lot of geological processes going on. Anyway, I think this is top prize contender for me. Love it.

    Fantasy
This is one of the type of parks you do best, Josh, ever since BITMAP. Gustav should be a very suitable partner too, and since I can't work out who did what, my point has been proven. Strong unique aesthetics (ORANGE), impressive large structures (the pyramid), fun sculptures (the god statues), smooth rides. Where this park falls a bit short is the concept - where and when is this? It feels like a fun imaginary place outside of space and time. Though much less visible than in some previous parks I also found the meta jokes a bit off-putting again. I clicked on the elevator hoping it would develop the narrative, instead it was called 'skmokyle'. Compare it to Temple of the Mouse Good, where every detail contributes to and strengthens the overall picture. It feels like you're hesitant to let the park just be silly by itself which is fine. I'm spending too many words on this particular aspect of the park now, it's not much of an issue and it mostly stems from the context of TTA. Back to the good park content: Sun Ra's car. That's a good joke. This tower is really cool anyway, very unique. The integration of the pyramid and the dive machine is so well done it didn't actually occur to me at first that this is very clever and obvious in hindsight, but I don't think anyone ever did it like this. The bend in the drop from vertical to steep to match the pyramid shape is the twist here to make the idea work. Smart. I like that there's a random white villa on the map. The back half of the map also has some nice features like the glass pyramids and the wiry bridges. The obelisks with weird patterns on them everywhere are very cool. A final shortcoming of this park, and it's probably due to deadline issues, is that a lot of the areas feel a bit empty. Nothing to click on or to draw me in, I can only (greatly) appreciate them aesthetically. I think you handled the deadline well overall though, because you made the deadline without any glaring gaps or rough edges. Well done.

    Lincoln Center
This feels like it's about a century from now! There's enough familiarity to latch on to, but there's enough science fiction to place it in the distant future. The architecture is great here, and all the beige allows the colorful other stuff to shine. In fact I think you chose every color for the B&M and I love it. Kind of a 'fuck you' map anyway. Debussy downs? Totally taking the piss  Nice music references with the holographic ads though, great use of expansions crap. Funny how every time someone uses these animated figures well, it tends to be in a type of ad. Architecture is lovely like I said, I like the central building with the colored glass and the many columns a lot. The smoke eater on the roof is absurd but funny. The set of rainbow colored buildings is another highlight, it looks quite lively by itself. Fantastic waterfall. Cool urban farming features. Nice string lights next to the BIKES!. The map doesn't offer the depth of the previous three maps I wrote about it, but I think it's one of the best interpretations of the prompt, and it's easily one of your best finished works! Glad you showed up in the final.

  • Narc%s's Photo

Great job by everyone who made it to the finish! I love the conceptual diversity in the parks. The maximalism and density in SolarExpo, the realism and story-telling in Temple of the Mouse God, the subtle (and when it comes to the music, not so subtle) sci-fi elements and use of colour in AJ's Lincoln Center, and the on point visual aesthetic and, well, fantasy, in Fantasy. A great finish to a fun competition.

  • Babar Tapie%s's Photo

Okay, here are a few quick words for this final

Fantasy: I love the palette (I’m not objective because this orange is one of the tones I used most for my serigraphies); the best sculptures in the final are here; the four sculptures of the Egyptian gods are incredible, a superb level of detail combined with great visual impact and easy to read.

Lincoln Center: I love the green aspect, in contrast to these large, brutalist-style buildings! Great coaster too, and  the part under the fountain is really cool!

The Amazonian Ark: Great concept and story, very poetic in a way, good job on the foliage !Missing a few details, but still a very good project!

Temple of the Mouse God: My winner for this final; the execution is very good, but above all, the concept and the idea behind it are really cool, it works perfectly and creates a unique vibe

SolarExpo: The best execution here; the architecture is incredible, especially the central building, which is stunning. So many details to enjoy (those elephants!).

  • hypnopompia%s's Photo
I'll speak to my and Xophe's entry at a later time. I love all of these entries. The state of the finals more or less reinforces my perception of TTA's overarching narrative. To me the story of TTA is the growth of Narc, AJ, and Gustav. Each of them hit a new gear technically and artistically, which was very cool to see in real time.

    AJ
I love the choice of landmark. The Lincoln Center building facades are so well done. the architecture throughout the map is great. The overgrown parking garage is a highlight. The bits of landscaping are really nice as well. The coaster colors are amazing. There are so many fun details and idiosyncrasies that seem chaotic at first but make more sense over time. This map is unapologetically AJ in the best way possible.

    Narc
This is my favorite take on Wonder/landmark. The Amazon foliage is really nicely done, as are the stars. The space station has some very cool details, like the retractable solar panels. The coaster was a little hard to follow sometimes, but overall it's a strong layout. Really nice work!

    Gustav/In:Cities
This has the strongest art direction/sense of identity. The vibes, the architecture, the "water", so good. The whole thing is very clean and polished. The only possible downside is that it's not very big. But in terms of quality per tile, this is up there with the best.

    Leon/AVC
I'd kill to able to build at this quality level! The grid breaking, the architecture, the moving solar panels, all the structures (the elephant!) are breathtaking. I feel weird giving anything less than effusive praise, since I am also in this round, and since I'm not sure I'm skilled enough to fully understand what I am looking at haha. Nevertheless, a couple drawbacks for me - It feels like a H2H map, and not necessarily in a way that is to to my tastes. I find the map a bit too dense (perhaps a victim of the tile limit?). And I wish there was some kind of description to better link it to the prompt. What sets it 150+ years in the future as opposed to 50? Nitpicking for sure. This is the overall best entry in my mind. The vibes of this park are so good, and I'll be studying it for months to come. Incredible work!

Alright it's live reaction time, starting in random order..

    Fantasy

+ cool aesthetic right away, fun vibrant colors, cartoony features

+ play that funky music white boy

+ love these structures and detailing, it's so clean and satisfying with layered lines

+ sick pharaoh statues, great detailing to make each one feel distinct

+ getting the urge to go to bass pro shop

    - pretty laggy, I think my laptop may be getting shittier, or maybe it's the ungodly amount of glass objects, those will really screw up your framerate

    - could have used a little more time in the oven, parts of the coaster feel unsupported, there's a good bit of empty path (could have used some 4x4 sunburn clusters)

** All in all, really nice submission, very cool aesthetic with the colors, textures, patterns, some intricate structures which make me think of the video game The Last Guardian

    Lincoln Center

+ is there anyone churning out more consistent content right now than AJ? Dude just gets shit done

+ LOVE the monorail exchange intersection, very satisfying track arrangement

+ Love the colored buildings, missing a bit of detail in places but overall excellent with the rooftop waterfalls, bush gardens

+ oh shit the music is picking up, damn this is getting good

+/- this feels like a fantasy park desperately trying to escape the shackles of realism

    - ultimately not too much happening or things to discover, it's giving the Grand Tour lived in vibe without being overstated

** Very nice architectural design, great colors, chill atmosphere, really great work and a strong capstone for you in the contest

    Solar Expo

+ god dammit you two did it again, I really hope you guys get the chance to meet in real life because it's giving mutual muses (pls kiss)

+/- crazy amount of density, structural motifs, height variation, layering, it's overwhelming but never boring and never lacking in quality

+ there's so much to focus on and so many cool bits, love love love the solar panel ferris wheel combo, vessels + wings are super clean throughout, love the steel elephant I can picture that in real life amazing work

+ what I find most striking is the stylistic variance without being jarring or incohesive, it all flows together wonderfully while remaining stylish

** You guys are so good at this game, it's a joy to take in, incredible vision, imagination, style, completeness, really excellent work

    Amazonian Ark

+ man y'all all went all out for the music, each park has such a distinct feel

+ love the concept, very easy to pick up and understand right away, the relative simplicity is appealing to me, I do sort of long for the days when parks looked like this

+ clean execution, I like the contrast of nature vs machinery, that's a tried-and-true visual and it works well here

    - I think this could have benefitted from more verticality, it's very flat with really just one large box structure, I would have liked to see stacked levels or a more 3-dimensional perspective on the space station design. In zero gravity, nothing needs to be oriented up/down so it would have been cool to see sideways/upside forest

    - no rainforest cafe, I promised my kids we would go

** Good work, congrats on finishing a finals submission! Been there and know how hard it can be, this is a real nice blend of styles which comes together well to create a fully realized vision

    Temple of the Mouse

+ WOW what an intro, these textures are out of control

+ wait.. is this an abandoned Disney park? Hell yea I fucks with this. Okay I'm seeing it now, discolored Cinderella castle, thunder mountain, small bits of small world wall, very very cool

++ IN N OUT REFERENCE hahahaha yessss

+ I spent a lot of time just looking around, there's something captivating about being here

** Outstanding, great concept executed well, your landscaping and overgrowth is totally fresh, my favorite parts are the recognizable disney features now decayed and forgotten. Lovely stuff, this landed with me

To all participants, great work and congratulations! Thank you for taking part, you should all feel proud to represent the community like this. To the mods, thank you for continuing to put on high quality contests year in and year out. Long live NE and an extra congrats to the winner(s)

AJ's Lincoln Center: Was not expecting a solo AJ entry but I can't say I'm mad. One of the more deserving players to be in finals, and once again you just say f it and have a buttload of fun. No one has your energy and that is something to be very proud of.

+ Think you beat me on the dive coaster front. It's a very daring layout with the huge scale, unconventional elements, and the multicolored track which is such a creative idea. The ads projecting from the huge pretzel roll are so cool too.

+ Debussy Downs has a really nice overgrown brutalist backdrop. That's always such a cool look. Brutalism is so underrated.

+ Love how stark all the architecture is. Not sure what the smoke going into the factory is supposed to be but it's really cool.

+ I like the market stand that looks like an anglerfish.

+- Love the huge multicolored city block, although the purple and blue buildings' interiors look a tad unfinished. Even having the glass be transparent and having a solid wall behind it giving the illusion of glass while hiding the actual inside would have made it look that more finished since you can't see the empty space inside.

    - IDK if this really a landmark on par with a world wonder. Wouldn't be surprised if it was a world wonder to you though. That would be very much in character.

Temple of the Mouse God: This one's a dream. Two of my favorite "recent" players pairing up on a genius concept really pushed to its limit. I honestly think this underdog pairing could win!

+ This is one of my favorite themes of any TTA park. It must have been so fun to try and reimagine Disneyland as a lost ancient civilization. Definitely the most creative take on the landmark objective.

+ Space Age-style archi is so so clean. The building with the half diagonal windows with rounded corners is seamless. Honestly a contender for my favorite building of the entire contest. Even if it's not overwhelming and innovative in the way SolarExpo or Kennedy Space Center's archi is, everything about it just feels so right.

+ Story of the Ancients is incredible. Amazing cutaways with some really neat visuals, an immersive narrative, and plenty of laughs for the road.

+ That one angle of Mountain Sacrifice Experiment is so sick.

+ Holy Crunchwrap Supreme, Batman! Huge fan of both players' landscaping between Xophe's dense, painterly foliage and Hypno's rockwork. I'm wondering who did that cave cutout; that's the best cave I've ever seen in RCT.

+ The monuments recovered from the dig sites are such a fun addition.

+ Love all the frozen staff adding to the narrative.

+ ORIGINAL MUSIC! Or an original arrangement rather, but I don't care because it's still unique to this park and really adds to the vibe.

+ The In-N-Out Burger sign in the cave made me snort.

    - If I had to find a flaw here, some areas of path feel a tad empty with only some rogue crunch objects breaking them up. Some road cracks with tufts of grass and bushes growing out I think would have broken up the paths while still making them feel desolate and abandoned.

The Amazonian Arc: Very happy seeing you qualify for finals and round out an exhausting six-round run. You went all out here! I wasn't expecting you to break away from the mega TTA park, but I can't say I'm not for it. Really cool seeing you give fantasy a good shot!

+ Man this is such a cool take on the concept of a world wonder. Life really is beautiful, man.

+ Juxtaposition is the word of the day. Lush Amazonian rainforests against huge black warehouses, savannahs against grity scaffolding, and overall realistic grunge against abstract fantasy. It's your most striking work yet.

+ Fun fact: I blasted the album the custom music comes from to get myself into a gear for a long night trying to get Fantasy remotely acceptable.

+- Life Force Express is a crazy layout, albeit it does get covered up by the structure a fair bit.

+- Love the satellites and the aurora that frame the arc. I do think that if you had changed the direction of the shape they make and had it line up with the shape of the arc, it would have made a slightly stronger impact.

    - I feel like the two 3D cinemas are kinda thrown under the main structure to funnel peeps around. Would have been nice to make them a more prominent feature in the map. Could have done something real funky with them.

SolarExpo Harit Bharat: My two favorite RCT players. My heroes. My ideals. The one who made me start and the one who keeps me going. Even if your mere existence has dashed the hopes of just about everyone else in the finals, I am so grateful to have another release from you two. Even if building to a quarter of this level of detail and concept is so hard and frustrating and tedious as I've learned in this contest, this is the kind of work that makes me want to keep grinding. I would genuinely lop off one of my legs to build half as detailed and inspired as this. In fact this looks a bit like a design I've been wanting to revive so maybe I can? Regardless, I am going to be studying this for a long, long time. Generational work.

+ I genuinely wonder how you were able to push the solar energy theme in such a wild and fantastical way. The solar panels laced around boats and ancient architecture, the blue glass motifs, the boats, the absolutely insane solar spaceships, and the massive sundial make the theme so obvious and push it just about as far as it can go. Just so inspired through and through.

+ Shut up smack your grandma S-tier architecture from two of the best architects in the game. I really hate using the word unfair to refer to someone's hard work, but like come ON dude. Highlights are the massive yellow palace (what I assume is the Taj Mahal Tower), Gangajal's station, the solar rig (good LORD AVC), and the slummy area in the northern corner of the map. I also really like how there are little architectural motifs throughout, such as the conical glass awnings and the glass domes. I am going to make this architecture my religion.

+ Both players are also responsible for some of the #datflowiest layouts known to man. Surya is so gorgeously tucked into itself and its surroundings and the bright orange track contrasts so well with the muddy red buildings. The Aquatrax is such a cool supporting coaster and every bit as well integrated as Surya. No notes about the supporting rides either.

+ Amazing path detailing. I wanted a lot of this in Fantasy but time got the better of me.

+ Outta here with the sculptures. The squid? The Nautilus? The mechanical elephants?! SHUT UP!!!! What aren't you two broken at?

+ New SpaceK dome objects are gonna save my ass in the future. Nice having some domes a little more detailed than the big cartoony blocks from like 2004. Would love to see a quarter version of the 1x1 dome to complete the set!

+ Funny take on the future concept. Even three months away is still the future! Even if it's not the insane sci-fi future a good chunk of us thought of, the maximalist presentation definitely feels futuristic.

    - Insane to hear this from Gustav Goblin of all people but I do think this park has a major flaw. With this much content on a contest-sized map, it gets hard to read. It even gets to the point where it takes away from the incredible level of detail and commitment put into the individual elements because my eyes just don't know which ones to focus on. This map feels like five eldritch abomination Lovecraftian horror-level micros slapped together. I understand the circular expo layout and all that, but I do think it could have been composed a little more smartly. This amount of content on a map twice as big would probably be among my favorite RCT creations ever.

Fantasy: Hopefully it's not too racist.

What a final, man. So many players, old and new, established legends and Promising Newcomers™, all but one giving their  all. This is what NE is all about in my eyes, and I'm so grateful to be here alongside you all. Temple of the Mouse God gets my vote for both objectives, while SolarExpo Hari Bharat gets bonus quality points because Jesus God Krishna Buddha Allah and the other one. There's a lot of personal antecdotes I may or may want to say about this contest, but objectively this was a super cool spin on the usual Grand Tour format. Hats off to the judges for another banger contest!

    AJ's Lincoln Center

+ Architecture looks great overall.  Love the color work here, it feels bold.

+ I genuinely like the use of cool dudes and margarita dancer objects.  I think it actually adds some charm despite feeling out of place.  Love the dancer support lol
+ Foliage work and overall map movement feels nice, a lot of detail wherever you look
    - The architecture I feel like really wants color accents.  They look good overall in terms of variation and scale but something neutral on the varied color buildings especially may have helped besides the roofing.
    - The white bicycles ride where the coaster interacts is nice but not sure if it was necessary.  I think this space would have looked OK without it and had a flat ride or something instead

    Fantasy

+ The sculptures are awesome, and the amount of depth is really cool.

+ Some really wild architecture in here.

+ Tons of very cool color and composition choices like the blue greenhouse pyramids with the twist in the middle.

    - The animated objects make my computer chug a bit.  Not sure why.

    - Park feels sparse in terms of overall guest activity.  More movement around the pyramids and back side would have felt good.  I think the way the paths are laid out in some spaces created this issue.

    - In some areas I find it hard to read the depth on the longer pillars.  Curious if some sort of background or underlying aspect to the map as a whole, like stars or some fantasy "lining" similar to Aurora Borealis might have helped

    Temple of the Mouse God
+ Love the theme.  A lot of funny ride scenes

+ The big futuristic architecture towards the front looks great, love the variation in height as it goes up.

+ The rockwork around the single rail looks cool.

+ Overall best ride design in the round

    - The ride scenes I had some trouble following the coaster beginning to end.

    - The tree use feels a little overwhelming in some places like it was used to fill in gaps.  I think some barren, neutral space outside of path might have helped here despite it going against the overgrown idea.  IE: extra path unused by guests that's more worn down with dirt tiles, a ride vehicle from a known Disney attraction sitting in empty space, etc.

    Solar Expo
+ Excellent architecture, the density and scale is wild

+ The flying coaster is really well integrated into its side of the map, and the map has a flow to it guided by well-seen paths despite the chaotic overview

    + Creative object use
+ I don't really know how you make things like this to begin with, and its really wild to look at
    - Some of the higher buildings may have benefited from varying color hues as they go up to make it easier to determine what's higher or lower.
    - Some of the foliage and texture feels like overkill and would have benefited from something simpler to contrast like the sand in the one corner.
    - I like the brighter path towards the front but find myself getting lost in the back with the darker path.  Consistent path texture or a lighter color in the back path may help

    Amazonian Ark
+ Nice to see something else abstract in a round.  I like the overall map layout
+ The facade for the coaster is really nice, love the waterfall and colors.

+ The wooden path works here despite having the same color as your backdrop.
+ The nebula backdrop under the map looks really nice
    - It feels a little barren and repetitive in architecture and object use
    - The path doesn't feel "space-y" to me

No extensive reviews from me but rest assured I greatly enjoyed looking through these entries. Top notch work from all of you. Super hard to pick a favorite here

    AJ´s Lincoln Center – AJ

Loving the colourfulness of the coaster and big statement elements. I had some difficulty seeing/understanding the “advertisement”-supports – as in, I didn’t first see them as part of the coaster, but part of the building behind it. I’m not familiar with the source-material, but from what I can find on google, you did a great job with the Lincoln Center building. On a critical note; The spammy use of the Depot-bush on the backside stands out in a bad way. Maybe you were running out of time? The front corner is my favourite area, with all the quirky shops and beautiful gardens. Would’ve loved to see even more of that.

    Fantasy – Gustav and In:Cities

Why is there smoke coming from my laptop and is it struggling to produce more than 7 frames per second? Nevermind, the park is stunning and it’s totally worth making my laptop go through hell and back. Very striking visual style. Big statement pieces like the pyramid and glass structures are combined with excellent sculpted set-pieces like the Egyptian gods.

Temple of the Mousegod – Hypnopompia and Xophe

Such a fun and creative take on the objective. I loved exploring the map and finding all these fun findings. Adds a lot of character to the park. Excellent archy and macro planning. Both the ‘old’ buildings and the ‘new’ ones look very convincing and detailed. Loved the darkride with a fun backstory. Really an amazing park.

    The Amazonian Ark – Narc

Another great entrance. Amazing coaster and I really like the Amazonian foliage. Well done! A small nitpick is that it lacks some underbrush or could’ve used some darker landthemes in some places. The park feels a little small in comparison to the other contributions. Love the Gojira-song, but it doesn’t fit the park at all in my opinion.

SolarExpo Harit Bahrat – AVC and Leon

I saved this park for last, because when two brilliant creative minds like AVC and Leon are collaborating, you just know it’s going to be amazing. And you guys delivered! SolarExpo is gorgeous. The archy, the macro, the micro, the foliage, I can go on, and on, and on. It’s all just extremely classy and tastefully done.

    AJ's Lincoln Center

This feels exactly like I'd hoped AJ's final would. It's exactly what I think RCT should be - a pouring of self into a map. This is so impressive given you built it solo. I love the use of ugly objects like the stripper! Only downside to me was I would have liked to see one or two more future elements here.

    Fantasy

First impressions: half of me is back to year 3, studying the egyptians in 1992. The other half of me is in some crazy neon future. So it really feels like this nailed the objectives for the round. The status in particular are super impressive. I think the park didn't need quite as much glass in the center; the waterfalls around the edges seem to benefit more from the crystalized effect but I think this is (maybe?) causing the framerate issues? The color contrast on the dark green steps versus the yellow on the pyramids is so good. The glass pyramids at the back also a great chilled area. Love the entry

    Temple of the Mousegod

Immediately felt totally drawn in by this entry. It's the kind of thing I wanted to build: more post-apocalytic and the misunderstood past (of our present) twist is so much fun. I would have guessed Jens was on this map based on the landscaping, which is as good a compliment as I can give it. Xophe's tree placement has just immediately jumped to S tier level. Building shapes are lovely and I really like how visually separated the more modern buildings are from the park remnants. The whole thing is so well composed.

    The Amazonian Ark

Narc has been a hero throughout TTA and it's been so cool to see your entries show your refinement as a parkmaker. Going back to round 1 now, there's such a massive jump. It's good to see you doing some bolder things, and I like the aesthetic of the amazon section to the void backdrop of the park.

    SolarExpo Harit Bahrat

So much detail, and the park that took me by far the most to explore and absorb. The sculptures - the mechanical elephants, the dragonfly spacecraft - are all so cool. The architecture is obviously next level, and it's almost rude to expect it of you two, but you both always deliver and then some. For me the macro of the park was needing more negative spacing on the interior just to make it a little more readable.

Congrats on all entries! TTA has been so much fun. So sorry I didn't get to a finals park. I would have loved to enter this, but I'm sure whatever I came up with would have been blown out the water by these parks.

    AJ´s Lincoln Center
Really colorful map! Very refreshing to see a city/urban-oriented submission that is not grey or muted. The color of the rollercoaster is so fun and creative and fits the style of the rest of the ‘park’! Also the interaction with the biking ride is great. I am not really sure whether Lincoln Center is a strong enough landmark, but that is maybe my non-US background as well. I was also hoping that maybe the buildings would have more detail inside given that they dominate they are otherwise quite dominant, but I get that this was maybe a lot to do in the time that was there.

    Fantasy
What a bold park (literally and figuratively!) It certainly pops and has its own unique signature, which I can appreciate. It was lagging for me which affected a bit the experience of going through the park. Very creative use of many objects for statues and the like. I was maybe hoping for a few more interesting rides aside from the main coaster, and I am not sure whether I ‘got’ all parts of the park in relation to the theme (e.g. the two floating platforms).

    Temple of the Mouse God
What an incredibly creative park! It took me an embarrassing amount of minutes to realise what you’re referencing here, after thinking a few times hmm this looks like a particular ride in real life! Such a fun concept that really invites you to explore the various peeps throughout the park that add lore. Very fun way to revamp some well-known rides. For me the dark ride in particular stood out, impressive how you could see every part of the storyline from a different angle.

    The Amazonian Park
A fun concept as well, where the recreated Amazon really shines and stands out. I also like the various peeps explaining ‘lost’ trees or plants. It is a bit smaller compared to the other parks in terms of what is happening and how much there is to explore, but at the same time that makes it not too overwhelming or crowded. I would like to have seen more of the Amazon recreated, I think it could have had more interaction with the coaster and perhaps another (water?) ride!

    SolarExpo
Insane that you managed to create all this within the time given! So much detail and care into every part of the map. Very interesting and creative interpretation of the theme that does not fall into the cyberfuture-esque or dystopian trap, but rather something colorful and hopeful. Also it is a joy to see all the different rides crammed in here. Theme-wise I am not completely sure how it ties into the idea of a landmark - maybe I am completely oblivious but even after googling Harit Bharat I could not find anything. As a park, it is incredibly detailed and with fun rides (I love the white coasters’ duel launch moment), but it does not tie in to the grand finals theme to me.

It's been a busy week, but I do want to comment on your work. Here are some ramblings for each entry. really liked them all! Thank you for such a strong final!

    AJ's Lincoln Center
Enjoyed a lot of the ideas in this park a lot. The hologram billboards, the smoke eaters, the added foliage and colors to the buildings. Architecture was a bit basic imo. I'm a bit split on the coaster colors. On first viewing I wasn't a fan, but on second I quite like them. Overall I think the colorfulness was my favorite aspect though. The flume was my favorite part where all my favorite things came together nicely.

    Temple of the Mouse God
Didn't read the description so had a good laugh when I realized what the concept was. Especially the story of the ancients made me laugh a lot. The combination of future technology and the ancient/overgrown look of the park worked very well. The information stands were a fun touch. If I had to pick a thing I don't like it's the sediment on the map edge. Was a bit distracting to me and didn't match well with the foliage and architecture for me.

    This is my favorite entry!

    The Amazonian Ark
Fun concept. Good to know that if we have to escape earth, we can bring roller coasters and trees with us. It didn't have the same depth as some of the other entries but I liked this a lot. The foliage, coaster and technology came together very nicely.

    Fantasy
Always appreciate it when people try out a whole new esthetic in this game. Even though it can be hit or miss with the audience. I quite liked this. The vibe works very well for a future-themed round. Not the biggest fan of how you did the overflowing water. My favorite part on the map was probably the engines. The hexagonal (is that the right word?) piece on top looks so cool and the energy flowing up made it very pretty.

    SolarExpo
It's insane how you were able to deliver this park for a contest buth in size and quality. And it's such a layered map too. The gateway of india looks fantastic, the futuristic upgrade is really well done. And the rides work extremely well in this setting too.
I'm glad we didn't get a lot of solarpunk entries for this round. And I'm extra happy for other people who may have planned to do this, because this is probably a perfect execution of the idea.
