General Chat / Last comic standing winner announced

Its true Dat Phan has won Last Comic Standing. It is very suprising as just about a month ago nobody would have thought that he would have won.

In case you don't know what Last Comic Standing is, it is a reality show on NBC, in which 10 comics are chosen to live in a house together and battle it out to eventually figure out who will be the, "last comic standing". In the case of Dat Phan, he was voted off twice, as he was thought to be one of the least funniest of comics. Both times he came back and beat both of his challengers in the comedy showdowns. In the finals, in which the last 5 comics battled it out, he edged out Ralphie May, who seemed to be the most popular of the 5 finalists.
So yeah.

wow i didnt kno he won. i had been watching the show periodically and i htought he was alright. its tru i didnt think he was gonna win at all. i thoght like evryone was plotting against him or somehting. i guess not.

i did see one of his standups on the show tho. kinda funny. he starts out with a EXTREME chinese accent and then like 5 minutes in hes like no im jst kidding i speak english. it was good.

Yeah, I really wanted him to win, don't know why. Btw it was a vietnamesse accent.

Dat Phan sucked and the show was rigged. Everybody knew he was the worst comic so they let him win so they would get good ratings. He didn't even really tell JOKES, he just said normal things in his stupid accent to make them sound funny. He shouldn't have ever beaten that guy in the showdown( I cant remember his name, but he was HILARIOUS!) I stopped watching after that becasue that was bbullshit.

Ok, let me lay it down on the line. DAT PHAN SUCKS!!! He was the most untalented piece of shit on the show. He used the same joke three nights in a row. He can't write anything new! The dude that should have won was Rich Vos or Dave Mordal. They were the funniest people on the show. I hope Dat Phan's show fails misserably. He stinks and no one likes him.

What NBC show. He gets a one hour special on Comedy Central.

Besides, Dat Phan's show will just be a ridiculous show about a Vietnamese salon. How funny.

I'm willing to bet that Ralphie May would have had a far funnier show, but Dave Mordal is and was the best comic there. I don't get what people saw in Dat Phan. He was funny, but not the greatest. Maybe only on a Premium Blend-level of funny.

EDIT: He gets a Comedy Central half-hour special, and an NBC talent contract, which I guess means that if Dat's proposal/script/pilot suck, we won't have to deal with another piece-of-shit show on NBC.

that's the chinese guy right? that guys so funny i couldnt stop laughing when i listened to him chinese comics are hillerius they usaly talk about how people reacte to them and one chinese woman on tv like when a white guy came up to here who she didnt want to talk to she said "i dont speak english" like she just came from china it was so funny

Rich Vos should have won, but that's just my personal opinion. I love his bitter, offensive humor.

Rich is already a relatively famous comedian, anyway. Fuck that fool.

Voss was on Premium Blend and Last Word. He's famous. He shouldn't have been allowed to enter.

Ralphy defitely should have won, between the two, based purely on humor and creativity. He was able to come up with hillarious comments off of the whim. Dat, Daht, however you spell his name, is a lot more structured, timed, and completely unoriginal. He has a few funny jokes, and wears them out quicker than Ralphy's boxers (where's my contract? ).

I wouldn't be surprised if the contest was rigged, since Dat is definitely more marketable for television. NBC needs a minority tallent, that's still somewhat good looking.

Well I would agreed with Ralphie May, but his act wasn't comedy, he was just trying to get the crowd excited by saying what he didn't like. It wasn't really comedy, but I think Dave Mordal should have won. That set he used against Dat was awesome and he should have really been the winner. If the show was not in fact rigged they probably voted for Dat Phan, because he was more or less the underdog and they felt sorry for him.

OKAY NOW I AM PI$$ED DAT SUCKS. I stoped watching it when he had to go up against that one guy and won. Hell the other guy got 100% more laughs then DAT.

After that I knew the show was rigged (Think that's right. See what happends with only 2hrs of sleep ) But I thought the FAT guy should of won he was DAMN funny. But what does it matter the producers ALWAYS choose the one that make the people want to watch the show NO MATTER what the public thinks.

One funny thing he may of won BUT since he got an NBC talent contract well to make people laugh well I wonder who is going to honer that that contract? He may also have a Comedy Central half-hour special but watch comedy central will put him on maybe once real LATE at night.
