I start to believe that Prodigy's "Music For The Jilted Generation" is one of the better albums I have. Has "No Good", "Poison" and "Voodoo People". All big hits. But then again, every Prodigy album rocks...

There are many brilliant albums that came before my time and I'm slowly starting to find some of them which is cool. I'm just going to list the newer albums though because that's the music that is most familiar to me and I really couldn't compare it to the older classics. These albums I would consider modern classics. Definately the best albums produced by these bands that transcend their genres while at the same time being the best examples of what this type of music can offer. From the little I know about music, these albums are all worth your time.

    Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream
    Radiohead - OK Computer
    Weezer - Pinkerton
Dinosaur Jr. - You're Living All Over Me
Dave Matthews Band - Steve Lillywhite Sessions (not an official release but whatever)
    Alice in Chains - Dirt

I'd put Tool on there too but I can't decede if I like Aenima or Lateralus more.

    Mine would include:

    Deftones- Around the Fur
Glassjaw- Eevrything You Ever Wanted to know about Silence

    Thursday- Full Collapse
Refused- The Shape of Punk to Come
The Plot to Blow Up the Eiffel Tower- Dissertion, Honey
    TOOL- AEnima
    The Mars Volta- Tremulant EP
    The Beatles- Abby Road

    and many more...

I already posted my list, in a similar topic at this website. Maybe somebody can find it for me - I don't think there would be too many changes, although there will probably be some.

I'm way too lazy to go and think about this topic, again. Doing such a thing is just far too much work, for absolutely no gain oncesoever - there are just so many fucking albums!

Although, Space Is The Place by Sun Ra is undoubtedly the best - Impulse! has a version of it, in quite a few stores, but it is a lot shorter and more expensive than the one I'm talking about.

But really - either are genuinly amazing, so long as you're completely out of your mind and a fan of Jazz (although, the two do seem to go hand-in-hand usually).

I realy like System Of A Down's 1st two albums aswell, both are quality and original, nice chnage to the mainstream nu-metal shite. Steal This Album was a bit of a letdown.

I'd have to agree with you on this one. I really enjoyed the first album(Haven't listened To Toxicity) then I got the "Steal This Album!" and I was very disappointed. "Steal This Album!" was definently an example of a falling into mainstream, but yeah, heres my list:

System of a down- System of a Down

Toxictiy- System of a Down(or at least the songs I've heard of it.)

    Mutter- Rammstein

    Attak& Reload- KMFDM

Master of Puppets- Metallica(the way it should be)

And the rest of the stuff I like is pretty much various songs from different assortments of bands.

SOAD's Steal This Album wasn't meant to be an album. It was a compilation of tracks that were cut from Toxicity that leaked over the internet. So they just put it on a CD to make a few extra dollars. I didn't expect it to be good since they were cut songs. Some songs were good. But I don't think they're trying to fall into mainstream... They're just trying to get their word out to the people that need help the most, MTV fans. In fact, they commonly tell people not to watch MTV at concerts. So whatever.

i gotta admit, i was ashamed of never hearing a radiohead/pink flloyd album before, so i downloaded a few Radiohead songs and sorry, i think they suck!

I also hate "great" bands such as The Beatles, Rolling Stones, Sex Pistols etc.

I gotta say The Who are a great band I like the clash as well. Still gotta download some Pink Floyd......
