    Sinister,

I had the same problem not even a week ago, with not enough songs in my mp3 folder, and it took maybe 2 hours to fix it. I downloaded unGodly amounts of Reggae, Rap, Ska, Punk, basically anything but emo...

Try listening to Sublime, their music has a punk rock/reggae/ska/dub type of sound, and alot of people can jam to it, no matter what kind of music they like. Im not saying you will like it, but It's worth a shot to have a listen, if your downloading music anyways.

Try these songs; Santeria, What I Got, Date Rape, Wrong Way, Total Hate (w/ No Doubt), S.T.P., and basically anything else you feel like getting.

I really think anybody who appreciates good music will be able to enjoy Sublime.

You might also try Nirvana and some of Metallica's older stuff, or perhaps the Chili Peppers. There's also stuff like Eka Mouse or Bob Marley if you like to get high, which would fall under the same category as Sublime.

    Peace Be With You.

All he's good for is sweep picking, which is not THAT INCREDDIBLY hard, I'm not saying it's easy, as it's not, but almost anybody can do it...

True, I can "play" shred guitar (i have the recordings to prove it), but he "writes" them, and better than most.
And whats more, he developed his OWN picking technique, AND his own revolutionary style, which is more than I can say for most shred guitarists, who pretty much ended up copying either him or eachother.
The sum: He is the most talented and original "shred" guitarist I know.

(note: steve vai, john petrucci, etc, do not count as shred guitarists, since "shred" is considered specializing)
