General Chat / Favourite/Least favourite Real Coaster

Hi, what's your favourite/least favourite Real Coaster (from Real parks around the world) and why?

    Favourite
Nemesis at Alton Towers because it gives a quick, speedy ride

    Least Favourite
Also at Alton Towers, Air is my least favourite coaster because it is so over-rated. I queued for 3 and a half hours to ride a crappy coaster for 30 seconds. Why?

Favorite- Millenium Force...just because its what it is

Least favorite- The Dragon Coaster at the American fairs...its too fuckin slow... for a 10 ft. kiddie coater...it sucks

I have to say X becuase there is nothing else in the world like it

    LEAST FAVORITE
Python at BGTP becuase its a really short and rough ride. no good.

My favorite coaster... Id have to say Nitro at SFGadv. So much speed, such a long ride, so much airtime! A great ride.

Least favorite, Scream Machine, same park. An hour line just to get my head knocked around and feeling like that little silver ball in a pinball machine. It would have been great if i didn't listen and leaned foreward instead of back, tho...

Well, I've still not been to Cedar Point, SFMM, the SF in Jersey, or even PKD in 5 years, so I'm missing out on some cool coaster types.

Of what I've been on, it's hard to decide which coasters are my faves.

For old school coasters, The Loch Ness Monster will always be a fave of mine. If any steel coaster is a classic, here's your first Hall of Famer.

Of the newer coasters, Raging Bull is among my faves...Dueling Dragons, Alpengeist, Great Bear, Superman (SFA-heard the SFNE one is better), and Lightning Racer

As far as least favorites go, let's just say that the following type of coaster is pure evil. :kane:

Not necessarily this one pictured (Zoomerang at Lake Compounce), but the one I rode at Hershey hurt like hell. I don't ever get headaches on coasters, as I stay rather hydrated and have a good tolerance, but the Sidewinder at Hershey Park is horrific. One quick ride and BAM! Headache.

    A Vekoma?!? Who knew? 8@

The feet dangling variety is pretty cool (Two-Face at SFA for example), but the sit-down type....avoid it like the plague...

    Kai :yup:

^ Dislocated my knee on a vekoma sit down.

So Corkscrew at alton towers is my least favourite. And that leaves nemesis as my fav.

Who let you off half way around? It's over 3 mins long from the time you board to the time you exit.

Nemesis could quite easily be subsituted into that statement instead of Air, also. When it first opened at least.

    Anyway...

My favourite coaster has to be Top Thrill Dragster and out of all 100 coasters I have ridden (Air was infact my 100th coaster this summer) I have never ridden one that I haven't taken some enjoyment from.

Well I am going to CP Saturday! Favorite would probably be TTD or MF. And my least has got to be a boomerang coaster. Them give you such a fuckn headache.

Least favorite: Any kiddie coaster, now if we want to be real i'll say either Sidewinder at Hershey or Corkscrew at Michigans Adventure. I'm not sure which hurt worse.

Favorites, I'll just give you my top five (mixed wood and steel)

    5)Shivering Timbers @ Michigans Adventure- Airtime + Helix = :)

4)Raging Bull @ SFGAm.- Let's put it this way: would be number 1 without the damn trims...

3)Cornball Express at Indiana Beach- Airtime, Laterals, great location and creativity through-out. How could this not be my #1 woodie?

4)S-ROS @ Six Flags America- No, i haven't been on the New England model. But ride this sucker up front and know the definition of Airtime and redifine the words "Great Final".

1)Millennium Force @ Cedar Point- Did i even have to say it? :p The best overall coaster i've ridden... I'm willing to bet that Expedition Ge Force in Germany is better though, Airtime vs. Speed. In this case probably airtime... MF still wamps good though. Try for the front few seats though. It isn't that great in the rear... Good night ride (I know, did it four times in total darkness, virtally last in line, kicks serius ass...

Well that is what i've gotten from my 62 different coasters. Then there is always the question of parks.... :)

    Hmm...

My favorite is either X or Ghost Rider... it changes everyday.
My least favorite is Python at BGT or Psyclone at SFMM
  • Hyperion%s's Photo
Best: Millennium Force (but that might change when I ride Top Thrill Dragster for the first time on Friday and Saturday... I'm very excited for the trip.)

Worst: Serial Thriller @ SFWOA(I couldn't even remember the name of the coaster after riding this piece.)

    Hyperion
