General Chat / Basketball Season 2003-2004

Well here it is, it starts today. Who are you routing for? I'm going for Lakers. 2 reasons why, I'm from LA and They got 4 All stars (Karl Malone,Kobe Bryant,Gary Payton, and Shaq O'neal) I mean this team is Superb , but Lakers lost 1 major player and 1 gay player (Mark Madsen and Robert Horry).

Im rooting for the Nets. Im from New York, but the Knocks suck too much, and i like Kidd. I used to be an LA fan, but their team is so stacked its not fun to watch their games, they usually win by a lot. The nets usually pull out an exciting victory, plus they got to the championship last year, so mabey this year will be better.

Well, I've always been a Gary Payton fan, so I was pretty happy to see him go to a potential championship team. However, I have never been a fan of the Lakers. I will try to like them this year though.

Mavericks all the way. Until LA. Then we die. But still, Mavericks all the way.

I'm rooting for the Lakers, of course. I'll post season predictions before the season starts. It'll be really hard, though. The top 6 could all be separated by less than 6 games!

Iris loves the Mavericks (and Heat, technically).
Fatha loves any Texas team, but the Mavs the most.
Radu and Aero are Kings fans.
Adix loves cows.
vTd prolly loves some team. Maybe.

I don't get a mention Cork? Ah well, I'm already disappointed because I know how the season is going to turn out. The Kings are going to break my heart again. It's inevitable. I don't know why I waste my time watching games. It annoys me that the Lakers are so stacked. But maybe those guys do deserve a title. Maybe I would be happy if Karl Malone and Gary Payton decided to join my team. I can't say really. I'm through hoping. From now on, I'll be happy if I get to see some good games. If the Kings do manage to make it through the postseason that'll just be a bonus.

The T-Wolves are going to be tough this year. They just signed Garnett to a 5-year deal, and they acquired Sam Cassell and Latrell Sprewell in the offseason.

The C's will again finish 2nd or 3rd in the Atlantic, 4th-6th overall in Eastern Conf.

Gone are the glory days, and definately until we replace Walker with a true superstar...I fear we'll never see a squad the likes of Bird, DJ, McHale and Parrish ever again...and no, the Lakers' squad this year doesn't compare...sorry, keep dreaming, 'cos I don't see the chemistry happening.

At least there's Nowitski in Dallas to bring back a bit of Bird's flair...otherwise, I doubt I'd watch the NBA much anymore...

If you can call the Wizards a team without laughing... then them I guess.

However, (and iris knows this well), I've expressed much disdain for the incredibly lame NBA regular season (same for the NHL and MLB). It's just downright boring. How anyone can get into a game when it's relatively meaningless in the grand scheme of the season is beyond me. It's like watching 5 months of exhibition games before it actually starts getting interesting with playoff spots on the line.
