(Archive) Advertising District / Disneyland Australia

Ok, so it's my first park. I guarentee I'm not the worst. I've been doing some hacking, so first is this pic of my raft ride. It does an extremely steep drop. Yes it actually goes down that. I promise to have a hack on every pick, whether you can see it or not. This pic is not finished, but I wanted to see if any interest came from this.

please post more complete screens , that doesn't show much and doesn't look like it is in rct or rct 2.

The idea is that this park is mainly a surprise, but that is RCT2. I used Cougers theming. I merged a river rapids to a river ride and made a steep drop. After that, I Covered it with water and Cougers waterfalls. Now it looks perfect. Anyways, screen 2. This one has some archy. I know it's a bit square, but I like squares...I have a strange fetish with them.

Shot towers... in... Disneyland? Sure maybe California Adventure, that's a whole 'nother novel...

With that said, you should probably give some background as to what it is exactly you are doing, because right now this looks/has nothing to do with a Disneyland theme...

The screenshot is bland, boring (no color), and has a worse tree selection than my parks... pretty damn hard to do IMO.

It's my first park. BTW, it's Australia. Uhhhhh...I guess I should change the name...but what am I going to do with all of those Disney logos plastered on the walls. Even at the top of the tower was a disney head.

Constructive Feedback:

I can't comment on the river ride because I haven't actually seen it work. Post a pic of the boat going over that drop and I'll be impressed.

Why would the Walt Disney Company put a pair of Shot Towers into a park and call them Hospital? Is there some obtuse Disney cartoon with that title that I am unaware of?

The colors on that "archy" in the second screen need a second look. Also, any Disney building in a Disney park is a heck of a lot more "gaudy" than that. I think John said it best in another thread....something about a bunch of shitty custom scenery stacked six high on each tile...(I don't remember the exact phrasing, but you get the idea)...that eloquent description is in fact quintessential Disney.

When NAMING a park Disneyland, without any specific information, it brings on (at least to me) the connotation of a Mainstreet, U.S.A, Fantasyland, Discoveryland, Frontierland, etc... not "Arizona"... so I think a rename is inorder...

The hospital sign reffered to the First Aid stall in the building, I guess I need to work on placement. By the way, it isn't a river ride, it's a raft. There's not enough to comment on atmosphere, and those hacks are not impressive. They're just simple merging and zeroing of height limits.

The park doesn't echo Disney at all, even at this early stage, and bragging about its hacks won't do anything special either.

Yes the members at NE are a bit harsh on criticism. But you should have known that going in. Sometimes being ripped a new one is actually productive to a park's progress (See the fixes I'm making in Phantasia). Then again, sometimes it's just plain mean. Mean people suck!
