General Chat / The Best 2.1 Speakers ?

Well I've been wondering round the net for a while looking for the best 2.1 speaker system. I cant realy decide what system I want, so I was wondering what you guys thought was the best.

Im looking for powerful bass, little distortion at high volumes, clear crisp sounds. Everything realy, Im not concerned about cash, only quality.

I use the JBL 2.1 'Creature' speaker system, its really small but delivers all your asking for - and cost $129 US list. It's also really pretty and comes in three colors - gray, white and this really pretty shade of blue (that I would of gotten, had it matched my computer - or anything in my house, for that matter).

They don't come in blue. I've got a pair of them. They're really nice but don't go with alot of thing because they are really funky.

I would recommend the Altec Landsing's, they only have one model so you'll be able to find out what I'm talking about pretty easily.

So yeah.

Save up $200 and buy JBLs new speaker called Invaders I have them and my dad has the creatures and mine puts his to shame.

First of all - he asked for 2.1 speakers (left channel, right channel, and subwoofer) while the Invaders are 4.1 (front left, front right, back left, back right, subwoofer). Moreover, the subwoofer of the Invaders tends to overpower the speakers, if placed within too close of a vicinity.

So take that into account when placing them around your space (ie - move the subwoofer back further away from you, place it on the floor, etc) if you do decide to get them.

Other than that though, they're definetly a good set of speakers.
