Custom Scenery Exchange / The case of the vanishing scenery!

Yes, vanishing scenery. The main culprits that I have found are "Wall-Castle-Pillars", and "Wall-Castle-Decorative" from Toontowner's IOA workbench. I checked them off so I could use it, but it never showed up. Same thing with 50% of the rest of the scenery I checked off. None of it even showed up on the menu. I even tried placing the scenery before I selected everything else, I did that, and then it vanished from the menu! Toon, or someone, what's going on here?

Too many objects in the "?" tab.

Thats why I'm running on 200 objects in my park right now.

You have to really optimize your tab selection. Get as many objects as you can in the other tabs so you can use the ? tab for the Items that don't have a tab. I just had South Beach back in the editor. It took me a couple of hours of mixing and matching to get the right mix. Take advantage of Toons roof tab and misc. tab. you can get a lot of Items out of the ? tab with those two. I hope this makes since.

I also noticed after finnicking around that if you use more than 168 custom items in a scenario, it won't save.

I tested this after my H2H park wouldn't save anymore.

make sure to not go over that number.

Foozy is right...there are too many pieces in the ? Tab. This happened to me a while ago, so I had to take some things out, shift some things.

Ahh, makes sense. But how do I move objects into a new tab?

When you select the tab that the objects are associated with, they automatically move to that tab(mine theme, cougars water features, etc.).
Take Roman for example, if you individualy select some of the items but not the tab, they will show-up in the ? tab. Go back and select the Roman tab and they will move into that tab.
If the Items that you select are not associated with a tab, you will just have to make do with less items.

I think the issue was, why are you talking about a park of his in a forum in which he asked a totally unrelated question? You comment made no sense in the context of the forum or topic you posted in. Just about all I used was toon's stuff, the screens are assembalys of about 30 core objects, I'd estimate.

The reason my screens look foreign, is because I'm hacking scenery so closely together, and in some cases, into another peice of scenery untill I have the exact look I want.

Frankly, I'm tired of being called dependant on custom scenery, because its mostly the stuff everyone is using (especially now that all that stuff was released).

I dont have a single peice of scenery that is not currently released. I'm kind of annoyed that I'm mainly being critisized becuase of a new level of detail I choose.

This is the same problem i had. All i did was went and deleted the objects i knew i wasn't gonna probably need.

I don't have those listed in my tabs window. Why is that?

I am using so many custom objects I am having the same problem. If Toon has a roof tab and a misc tab that would help out immensely.

one time used almost all my scenery in the ? ta,and i didn't get all of it,so theres probaly a limit

What I did was use the Datmaker and create my own tabs. I combined some of TT's smaller roof sets (spanish tile, shake, etc.) into a single Tab. I also did the same with custom stuff making a few tabs of things I use all the time. In that I use the [I]cough[I] expansions [I]cough[I], I went through and combined the good stuff (basically walls and roofs). That eliminated checking the full group, then unchecking dozens of items I never use. My "?" tabs is pretty empty and I hardly hit the 19 tab limit.
