this is just a piece from one of our 30 minute sessions. I actually like how the skin and muscles turned out, especially the chest and neck area.

So you had to draw a naked guy? Where the fuck is the women? And how does the guy keep from not having a boner???! That's gotta be hard. Nice drawing BTW.

Don't worry. Even if they're women, it's not like they're hot or anything. At least my 105 class models weren't.

Though it doesn kinda suck to draw a naked guy. I mean, even girls don't like that (at least my female friends).

The drawing is... interesting. I think the proportion seems off, unless that guy's just like that.

For 30 minutes, I like it. You seem to have a solid grasp of foreshortening, and your hatching skills are pretty solid.
What school do you go to? Cal Arts?

I remember my life drawing classes. We always had people with the most interesting body proportions, which I would think is not exactly smart, since you are trying to first learn the "average" human proprotions, i.e. "learn the rules so you know how to effectively break them" type of thing.

Does anyone here even realise that back in the 1400's, it was an honor for royalty to be painted in the nude?

It's amusing to watch all the tennage guys on this site flip out over seeing a drawing of a male nude. Just means that the Judaio Christian establishment has done a good job creating shame and immaturity around the human body.

I have nothing against any nudity... I'm just wondering why we seemed to be focusing on the guys dick... and on another note, I wish I could draw as well as Blitz.

I wasnt focusing on the fact that his dick was showing (oh my god!) Just the fact that in an art sense, the nude looked incomplete because to me the dick head looked like it was missing. I have nothing against nudes, and i think Blitz draws great.

yes, my purple avatar'd friend, I think it is quite sad when kids see a penis and immediately have their parents christian rantings pouring out their naive mouths. It is also equally distressing when some perverted teenager gets pissed my topic doesn't provide wank off material, just because the word "nude" is in the title.

On the up side, I haven't seen any truly disturbing posts yet, so props to the NE forums.
