I just went to see 'Intolerable Cruelty'. It was at this new cinema complex that's just opened in town - it was deserted! Me and my mum and this couple and this other family were the only people - like a ghost town! Anyway, the film was pretty funny, but got really weird as it went on. I read a review of it in the Guardian and it said it was an 'adult romantic comedy with brains', which I guess is accurate. It was pretty clever with the plot twists, but meh...maybe not my sort of film, cos I came out of it thinking "I think that was good...but i'm not really sure!"
I want to go and see Finding Nemo again now
In other news - I upped my screen resolution to 1024xwhatever cos I felt like it. I'm starting to get used to it now. Everything looks so small though... -

It's a good film. Hilarious and endearing while you are watching it, but ultimately forgettable. No doubt, it's got the typical Coen brothers offbeat humor. George Clooney was brilliantly quirky.
Like I said, it's a wild time while it's on, but as soon as the credits rolled I thought nothing further of it. -

Mostly, I agree with VTD. However I did find one sequence quite memorable, the credits. With the pretty animation and the wonderful Elvis selection, so good. -

I clearly remember when "wheesy joe" died, and the baron in the court. :\
They's funny. -

Definately the most intelligent comedy this year.
"You see, my wife has me between a rock and a hard place"
"That's her job, you should respect her for it"
Miles Massey was a great character.
Wheezy Joe was definately typical Coen. I don't think anyone else would have thought of that way to kill him off.
Is it just me, or is Catherine Zeta Jones the hottest thing on two feet? -

She is pretty hot...plus she managed to look nice in all manner of weird outfits.
Haha I loved the 'until you hired a man to kill me', 'no you hired him first!' hehe.
I thought she was better in this than in Chicago. Is 'O Brother Where Art Thou' good? -

Yes it is, although it is probably one of their weaker films (along with the one we're talking about). However, it's also their best soundtrack - which might make it worth viewing in and of itself. Is 'O Brother Where Art Thou' good?
My favorite is probably The Man Who Wasn't There, but most people say Fargo, which I haven't seen, so, yeah. -

Is The Man Who Wasn't There the black and white one? I read the Friday Review in the paper every week because it has all film/music articles and reviews, so I pick up bits of knowledge about films that I never see and end up mostly forgetting. So maybe i'm completely wrong. My favorite is probably The Man Who Wasn't There, but most people say Fargo, which I haven't seen, so, yeah.
I remember Fargo getting good reviews though.
Hmm...my mum's a George Clooney fan which is mainly why we went to see this, but i'm still glad I did. It's good to see him doing something that isn't ER. I think i've seen him in some other films too...oceans eleven and three kings I think. And the Perfect Storm (except I hated that film). It's funny cos he's been in a lot more films than I realised. AND that one with Nicole Kidman, which was a really good film...I keep remembering more! Weird. -

O Brother Where Art Thou is brilliant. A little disjointed at times, but it's great fun, and one of the best Coen's I've seen. (haven't seen Millers Crossing, Barton Fink, or the Man Who Wasn't There). It also has some sentimental value for me that I won't go into, but yeah... anyway, best soundtrack ever.
In other news, and just to spur some more discussion... 28 Days Later was terrible. -

I found it very confusing and weird. Catharine Zeta-Jones is very hot, indeed.
Anyways, does someone wanna explain this movie to me? There were way too many plot twists. The only thing I really remember following is at the end is when she rips up the pre-nup AGAIN. Whats up with that?
