K, I just downloaded a couple cool styles for XP, but I have no idea where to put them. Any help here?

You need to get Style XP.

yeah...you cant just download a style or theme, and expect it to work.
you need something like stylexp or windowblinds to be able to use it.

Also, why does XP need extra software? I could d/l Win 98 themes and just install them fine....

XP themes are wayyyy cooler than any other version.

both stylexp and windowblinds are trials...

I prefer stylexp, it integrates seemlessly with windows, uses no resources, and better styles.
Windowblinds isnt integrated, and does use system resources.

Litestep is a little tricky. It is a shell replacement for windows, allowing you to create 100% custom desktops.
Not very user friendly, but it is free. And worth looking into.

if ihave webshots(it changes my desktop image automatically every so otfen), which i do, will this xp thing still let webshots run and let me have the new style i want?

Although get those downloads from themexp.org. Way better than plain old Webshots.

why the hell would you need a program to take a picture of a desktop when you can fucking do it yourself?

hit the print screen buttin (right above insert), and then go into paint or some crap, and then paste. Voila.

zach has a yummy litestep theme.
